Jan. 12th, 2009 11:55 amLast night I had a dream that I was searching through the house for my LEATHER COWBOY HAT. We were leaving for florida and I wanted to bring my LEATHER COWBOY HAT because, god knows, nothing says florida like redneck animal-hyde headgear! To top it off, I found the reciept for it, (my husband had given it to me as a gift) and it had cost $1100 !!
ahahaha! I don't 'do' hats. Especially cowboy hats. Especially $1100 cowboy hats. I'll stick with my $20 touque on high wind-chill days, thkx
One small disclaimer: I don't get out much. I don't get to see films that have 'real' actors (as opposed to cartoon characters) in them, so my standards are frighteningly low, and I am way behind the times in terms of current flicks.
TROPIC THUNDER
OMG! How much did I love this? Sooo slashy! Soo funny! Soo much action! Hi-larious fake movie trailers. I would totes watch this again and again.
IRON MAN
I didn't really want to see this one much, but I really enjoyedstaring at RDJ's OMG sexy body it anyway. Did I mention that I want to fuck RDJ? He was sooooo smoking hot in this flick! I would tap that until I needed a wheelchair! And then I'd tap it some more! tappity tap tap tap! Movie itself was more than watchable, even though I had never heard of the character iron man before.
BURN AFTER READING
Meh. I like some of their movies, (Oh Brother, Where Art thou? topping the list) but the Cohen bros often leave me wanting more. Their movies leave too much hanging and this one in particular had no redeeming characters. I really want to 'love' and champion for the main character (even if they are a douche-bag) but I honestly didn't like any of them. This film seemed like it was trying to be Pulp Fiction, but failed.
BOLT
OMG! THE best animated film since the Lion King. Not a lot of huge surprises, but lots of fun action, great character development, OMFG SO FUNNY HAMSTER!! and although it's not a musical, it had some really good songs. My kids loved it too.
BED TIME STORIES
Another meh. It was okay, but really didn't seem like it was made by Disney. It came off as more low budget. Characterization failed, big 'motivation' plot holes. (like, when someone gets angry at something that someone else said, but it seems over blown and false.)It was cute, but didn't deliver like I'd hoped. I DO have a big crush on *runs to google to look up his name* Russel Brand

Date: 2009-01-12 06:31 pm (UTC)I liked Iron man a lot more than I thought I would.
My daughter is so obsessed with Bolt that I had to download it and burn it on a dvd, and it plays on repeat in her room all night and day.
I haven't seen any others :(

My kid is only interested in video games and Nickleodeon. I've seen more Drake and Josh since Christmas than is possibly good for anyone! LOL!

Date: 2009-01-12 08:28 pm (UTC)Funny dream xD You don't do cowboy hats eh? I LIVE in mine. Well, it's kind of a dumbed down cowboy hat but whatever. Then again I wear it because of Chazz. I'm easy =(
Movies - TROPIC THUNDER OMGGGG I laughed so hard at that xD That movie was hysterical. Yea, loaded with slash, but I pretty much expect that now with ANYTHING Ben Stiller takes part in.
You liked Iron Man huh? I fell asleep xD It is one of the few movies I have ever completely LOATHED after seeing it in the theater (up with Superman Returns and Star Wars: The Clone Wars or whatever it's called). I suppose if I could have found him hot it'd have been a bit different.
BOLT!!!! :D :D :D Omg. Words cannot DESCRIBE how much I loved that movie xD I was impressed after getting back from the theater and even now I'm surprised Disney managed to pull together another good animated film, especially CGI since that is totally Pixar's thing. So cute. I want a stuffed animal from it bad but um I have like a million. I have to disagree about it being the best since TLK though. I thought they did a pretty shweet job with Tarzan and then Brother Bear :3 *Watches too many cartoons argh*
Haven't seen the others, dunno if I'll bother.
There. Have a nice long tasty comment xD

Date: 2009-01-12 08:48 pm (UTC)As for the movies, I fail. I only saw Iron Man and didn't like it much. The last movie I saw was 'The Fourth Angel', and I only remember it because Jeremy Irons is hawt.
Oh my, it's almost Disney time again, isn't it? You lucky ducky. This is such a nice time of year to be there. Try not to wreck it, k?

Date: 2009-01-12 10:02 pm (UTC)I didn't bother seeing Superman returns and yeah, the last three Star Wars movies sucked big smelly wieners. (I LOVE the three 'old school' ones!)
It's funny that you hated Iron Man that much. I would happily watch it again. but then again, I'm pretty easy to entertain nowadays.
It was funny, my husband was reading the jacket of Burn Before Reading, to get me interested. He said the usual; "An intriuging tale that twists and turns, binding this all star cast...bla bla bla. " I was typing away at the computer, then he says; "And lots of flagrant gay sex." *my ears perk up* "Does it really say that?????!!!"
teehee! Of course it didn't, but he knows how to get my attention! :D

Date: 2009-01-12 10:06 pm (UTC)My mother will be meeting us there. :S I dunno, the last time I saw her, she drove me right round the bend. Let's hope a) we find a muzzle to fit her, and b) I can just ignore her and SPEND LOTS OF TIME AWAY FROM HER!
As for movies, I hadn't seen any for ages, but we rented a couple for new year's eve, and the kids dragged me to the other two. I used to go all the time, before kids, but we don't really have a regular babysitter, and/or one of us usally works in the evening.

Date: 2009-01-13 05:40 am (UTC)Iron Man...I don't know. I guess I'm not a fan of anything that even relatively looks robotic, even if it was just a suit with a person inside. That sort of stuff almost immediately bores me (exception: Transformers movie). I was also irked with how easily he put together said suit, how he moved in the 1st version when he busted out (damn you can't move so easily in something as heavy as that! Just no!) and...I dunno xD The whole movie either bothered or bored me.
Word on the original 3 Star Wars. I was psyched when they were rereleased into theaters in the 90's so I could see them all...big.
XD *Applauds your husband*

Date: 2009-01-13 06:02 am (UTC)Like the one I had sitting in a totally white room on a white mime box, with empty margarine containers and a 10 gallon bucket of cream cheese. All the containers were labeled with the names of people I know and I filled each container according to how much I enjoyed their company... I don't think I'll ever forget that dream...

Date: 2009-01-13 06:25 am (UTC)One of my fav dreams was me beating up my ex-husband with a smelly old string mop! :D :D :D
He had lost my dog, and I was yelling at him, YOU STOOPID ASSHOLE HOW COULD YOU? And with each word, I'd whack him in the face with the mop.
*revels in memory*
