*bangs head against wall*
Milky's original story is here: http://tripperfunster.livejournal.com/157349.html
Sadly, his leg is NOT HEALING AT ALL. We've gone for bandage changes every two days for the past month, but it's getting worse, not better. The frostbite pretty much ate away his tendons and muscle, so the vet can't close the wound, because it's just a big hole.
It was getting better, and better, and then ... not better. I suppose that it was healing on the outside, but not the inside, and then, perhaps with one of his seizures, or whatever, it opened right up again.
The vet says it's amputation or nothing. I don't have a problem with a three-legged cat, but I DO have a problem with the $1000 that it's going to cost. (this is on top of the $1100 or so that we've already spent on him.)
I went for a second opinion to a vet that I really like, and she tried something a bit risky, with putting him under, sewing the wound shut and then putting a big 'stay' suture there, through the tendons, so he couldn't rip it out. She then gave me some 'chill pills' for him, so I could change the bandages and bathe the wound.
Wow. Note to self: CHILL PILLS DID NOT WORK. They made him confused and agitated. I guess, because he's deaf and has limited eyesight already, he was even MORE confused, and kept falling down and in a panic to escape, started slamming into the walls of his cage.
When hubby and I finally retrained him enough to take off the bandages (in a towel) the wound didn't look good. Some of his stitches were torn and he was obviously in a lot of pain.
He then proceeded to try and rip off his new bandages, so I had to drag his angry self out of the kennel, have hubby pin him down and re-bandage, then manhandle a cone of shame onto the poor boy. HE LET HIS DISPLEASURE BE KNOWN TO ALL.
And this morning, he's still woozy from the happy pills, so I have to keep him confined because he's stumbling around like an angry drunk, and he's going to injure himself even more!
TL;DR Angry!Injured!cat is angry and injured. (Although he's a sweetie pie when you're not poking his boo boo.)
I HAVE NO MONEY TO SAVE THIS CAT, THEREFORE I AM SELLING OFF SOME ART
I have never done this before, so I don't know the best way to do it. Should I do a mini auction? Or just stick prices on stuff?
Art that I have available:
Vulcan hand porn:
This one is really nice in RL. about 14x14. Pencil crayon on craft paper.
Double Ridged:

11x14 pencil

Date: 2010-04-23 03:33 pm (UTC)way OT but I wanted to tell you I finally saw Blades of Glory and loved it, thought it was hilarious, WF is a lot funnier in it than he ever was in SNL and I knew Napoleon Dynamite guy was funny but he's actually really cute in it.

Date: 2010-04-23 03:41 pm (UTC)We have no money to spare at all right now (literally nothing for the next week and a half) but I know what it's like to have mounting vet bills and to take on animals that don't have a chance elsewhere.
I'm happy to pimp your art and I don't know that it will get a whole lot but I'd like to auction off a commission from me to help out. I can get whomever wins it to paypal you the money and I'll draw them something.
*hugs* I really hope you can raise the funds.

Date: 2010-04-23 03:47 pm (UTC)If you don't, I'll figure out something =3 Maybe I can buy terribly gay Star Trek and disturb the SHIT outta my boyfriend.
Poor little Milky :( I know he'll be fine even with the amputation, animals can deal with being "handicapped" fairly well, but still. The whole ordeal sounds so very stessful.
I can pimp your art sale in my journals if you want.

Date: 2010-04-23 04:55 pm (UTC)Send me a message or something with paypal info and I'll see what I can do- no need to worry about art unless you have something little kicking around. Stuff like this breaks my heart. It won't be much, but hopefully every little bit helps, yeah? I have had the massive unexpected vet bills before with my accident-prone dog and I feel your pain.

Date: 2010-04-23 10:11 pm (UTC)I don't know what to suggest about pricing etc -- but I can afford to contribute $50, so how about you tell me where to send it via paypal, and then surprise me with a piece of art of your choice? I'll love your work, and I'd be willing to kick in the money regardless.

Date: 2010-04-24 02:05 am (UTC)He's such a good kitty. I think the amputation would probably be the best bet for him. We have had tons of cats in Adoptions with three legs; it's true that he'll have no trouble adjusting.
But the vet bills for it are indeed hefty. : / I hope he can get to healing soon.
*sends good thoughts his way*

Date: 2010-04-24 02:24 am (UTC)If you do an auction, please leave it up long enough to get decent bids! *whimpers*
Good luck!
(oh and if you're just taking donations, could you include your paypal address? :D )

Date: 2010-04-24 02:51 am (UTC)But I don't have any fears that your art won't be snapped right up by the people who love it so much.
I hope Milky Wave is able to feel better very soon.

Happy to send it anywhere around the world if it helps Milky Wave :-)

Pm with which story is yours.
I'm bad, I haven't read a thing this fest. TOO DAMN BUSY. But things should clear up a bit soon.

Date: 2010-04-27 11:12 pm (UTC)I'm still way behind on fest reading (listening), but getting there. I've been enjoying the art a whole lot, too, though I never know what to say about it. "I like this, it's pretty" seems pointless, somehow.
Mum just popped in to say that she was just pruning a tree in our garden and found a large and beautiful frog in its branches. That is so weird. I mean, it's not like we have a pond or anything. ??
