SCRATCHBOARD! I love you I love you I love you!

Well, I don't know you well enough to actually LOVE you yet, but lust is def an option!

Really cool medium. It's basically black paper that has a layer of white beneath the black, and you 'draw' by scratching off the layer of black so that the white shows up. Drawing backwards hurts my brain, but obviously releases endorphins! :D

I love scratchboards! I haven't played with them since I was in high school though. We made our own. :D

Wow, you did a great job with this; this is going to be one of your best mediums, I think. I have a few that Jer did while he was in college, and still have them hanging on my walls. Who is this man, Tripp?

They gave us that to work with in art class, and I was terrible at it. I think I just doodled cartoon penises and random curse words. Seriously, is there an artistic medium you do NOT excel at?! Macrame? Shrinky dinks? :D

Scratchboard is without a doubt one of my FAVORITE mediums. I adore it, I wish I had some supplies for it right now.

That looks absolutely amazing!!

Thanks! Oddly enough, the scratchboard came in a big piece, like 36"x36", so I cut off a nice size to work with, but then used the badly cut 8x11ish size to practice and get the feel of it first. Gee, guess which one this is drawn on. :D

I was like ..well, maybe I'll just try an eye, oh ... that looks okay, so maybe just a few wrinkles ...

Oh well.

WUT? You have NON SNARRY art on your walls? DONE BY PEOPLE OTHER THAN ME???? *iz scandalized*

This is some old dude I found on dA. I suppose i should contact the photographer and ask him if I can use his stuff. He's let me before, so I doubt it will be a problem. I'll credit when I post the finished pic.

CARTOON PENISES ARE THE BEST! Well, actually REAL peen is the best, but cartoon ones are fun too.

I'm pretty good with the Shrinky dinks, but I"m sure I'd suck at macrame. I'm also pretty stinky with watercolour, and I"ve never tried REAL paints. One day maybe!

I know! I should! When I'm not busy doing enough silly projects like the ones that posted at severus*sighs today.

I know IJ is a bitch for you, and it's a lot of panels, but if you have patience, you might get a giggle out of it. It started out as crack!art and then...just got away from me:

(too lazy to figure out to code to put it under a cut cuz I'm lazy)

I sculpt! That's traditonal, right?? Does that count??

Thanks! I'd never even HEARD of scratchboard before last week. I was pretty happy to find that it's cheap and relatively easy to use.

GO BUY SOME NAOW!!!!

Um, is ANYONE truly ever good at watercolor? You give me a white crayon and some blue watercolor, and I can make a kickass "aquarium" scene. When I took my art design classes for fashion design school, they made us do watercolor and marker clothing mockups. Well. I cheated. Watercolor PENCILS are amazing. You draw it, splash of water, see? Waaaatercolor! Markers are also not my forte. I'm so lucky my instructor never caught on.

I think you would really like acrylic as far as painting. Easy cleanup, colors are so vivid, and you can create fantastic textures. I just picked some up yesterday, because I have to do a piece for my future nephews bedroom. It's not super expensive either.

Omg, you should totally try to do a Snape or Megamind using those little round plastic circle beads you put on the pokey plastic base and then bake. That could be so awesome...
