Wow, indeed. It's very much in the same vein as Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale, only even more frightening in its timeliness and plausibility.

This is why taking away 2nd amendement rights is bad, because you can't keep the gov't in check.

Then what's next. The violation of privacy was even more disturbing. Next it's property... so many many many constitutional violations.

But if every woman who disagreed donated a dollar to vote in like minded women, you'd have change.

If every woman withheld sex for 2 months, you'd have change. If you had the 2nd amendment you shoot the men who disagree with the witholding when they try to take it by force. ;>

What about all the ex-military women...hmm. Oh I could think up quite a revolution in that world view.

I thought it was good. Scary and very thought-provoking, but good. It was first published back in 1985, so the epilogue is somewhat dated. I'd still recommend it.

Read the Handmaids Tale my first year of university, it will blow your mind.
"And that was how they were able to suspend the constitution" was my favorite scary line.
