Day Seven Farmspam!
Apr. 20th, 2012 10:44 pmPics of animals! Which includes gratuitous pictures of cocks. (not animal cocks, but animals that uh .. .are cocks?

Our horse Oats. Which, btw, is a stoopid name for a horse. It's like calling your dog 'Bone' or 'Cookie'. Oats are a treat that they love, so you end up like, saying oats all the time. I have to go get oats. Did you buy oats? Are we out of oats? I did not pick that name.

Random rooster with no name. I was going to call her Genevive, but um, not a girl.

T'hy'la our rescue goat. And no, this is not photoshopped, she is smiling her little goatie smile.

My polka-dot horse Spock. <3

Professor Sprout. She really misses our other goat. (Thyla is a dork, and just annoys her.)

Minion! Every day he jumps out of his enclosure, and every day I open the door and he goes back in. Every. Day.

Chelsea the bunny and Buttons the duck.

Jimmy MacElroy the peacock. It was beautiful out today, but he decided to stay inside.

Wild Canada goose that is hanging out at our place this month.

Carl. He and Minion have a love/hate relationship. Sometimes they hang, sometimes Minion chases him around.

In an effort to own the stupidest looking chickens in the world, we got some of these. Frizzles. This guy followed me around while I was taking photos today. Whenever I would turn and look at him, he'd turn away and try to look innocent.
There were more animals (bunnies, mini horses, a goose and some ducks) who did not feel like posing today. Perhaps in another of these 'hundred' posts I'm doing. Hey, and maybe the inside animals too!

Date: 2012-04-21 04:23 am (UTC)You should name your rescue goat Dr. Reid. I suggest this because if you google Matthew Gray Gubler, they share the SAME smile! Both are femmy, technically...
It must be fun on your land surrounded by such wonderful animals, and what a great experience for the kiddos! *sigh* I miss our farm.

Date: 2012-04-21 07:47 am (UTC)I think you saved random rooster's street cred by deciding not to call him Genevive. *smirk*
You rescued a goat from Vulcan! Live long & prosper, smiling T'hy'la.
Is Spock raising an eyebrow in that picture?! Fascinating.
Oh my! Looks like Professor Sprout's been for a roll in the hay with
Geneviverandom rooster, perhaps?*giggle* I think Minion just likes to keep you on your toes.
Nice to see that Buttons hasn't pecked the heck out of Chelsea.
So you're saying that your peacock prefers foul weather. Pity.
Dinner looks lovely. (โโกโ)
Carl looks like he's got swagger.
OMG! *looks closer* Did you glue a bunch of Swiffer dusters to a chicken?! Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Date: 2012-04-24 03:05 am (UTC)It IS a fun place to live. Pain in the ass if we ever go on vacation, but great when we're home!

Date: 2012-04-24 03:07 am (UTC)Yes, frizzles are hilarious. Not terribly cold hardy, so we have to heat them in the winter.

Date: 2012-04-24 03:44 am (UTC)The horse in the photo was definitely not what would be considered a pretty horse, haha. He actually looked like someone's pasture pet or maybe a riding school horse. The photo was taken in winter and the horse's shaggy coat was grown out and it was eating hay on the snowy ground. For some reason I keep thinking the name with the photo was "Spock", which is why I asked. The name and the horse looks like the one in the photo, haha.
Maybe some day I'll find where I got it. Wetcanvas has since gotten a lot of photos of horses, and the other forum changed servers and bbs, so if it was there it might be gone now. I haven't gotten to check yet.

Date: 2012-04-24 03:50 am (UTC)I've owned him for about two years. I don't *think* I've ever posted a winter pic of him anywhere (although I might have) and before me he lived in Kentucky and his name was Freckles.
There are certainly a few "Leopard Appaloosas" out there though.
If you ever find the pic, I'd love to see it!
