Paint a large unicorn on a military transport truck. You must have permission to do so.

GISHWHES94

How hard could this be, right? RIGHT?

I went to the local .. armory? type place, met some very nice soldiers who kindly took me to the man I needed to see. Captain Hayes. (Did the fangirl in me get a kick out of calling someone Captain? NOOOOO! :D ) Anyhoo, Captain Hayes said he'd have to talk to his superior, etc etc etc. Then he called me two hours later to say that unfortunately, it just could not be done. He was really nice and sweet, and like i said, called me right back to let me know.

I'm sure you're all familiar with my aversion to the word 'No', so of course, I wracked my brain to do it some other way. Where else could I find a military transport truck? Kijiji! (Kijiji is an online buy and sell classified thing, for those of you around the world.)

I found a truck, I called the guy up who was selling the truck and asked if I could paint a unicorn on it.

"I don't see why not." he said. WTF? Why are all these people so damn nice and accomodating?

So, I made an appointment to go to his house on the Sunday, met him and his wife, talked about chickens (they were rural too) and then painted a unicorn on his truck. :D I was very relieved when it came right off with a squirt from a hose. I had visions of the 'washable Crayola paints' leaving some sort of horrible, permanent unicorn tattoo on there. :D

One more item marked off my list.

Oh my god. Why would anyone let you paint a unicorn on their truck, especially one they are true to sell? I am amazed by people and their trust of strangers. If a guy came up to me and asked to do this on my car, I would say hell no way. However, I might be a bit more likely to do it if someone who looked like you asked to do it. I guess gender and appearance would probably play a factor into my decision to allow anyone to paint on my car...

I love the stories even more than the pictures! Keep 'em coming! (Hope you didn't attempt the haka one, though, because *collective Kiwi cringe*)

Because they're all getting great stories out of it, too. This guy is going to be telling his mates for years to come, "You'll never believe what happened when I was trying to sell that old military truck back in 2012!"

Is, again, in awe of you awesome.

And lol, I thought you meant you had to be standing on a transport truck when you painted the unicorn... on paper. :((

I would sooo suck at this game!

Very pretty :) Possibly not what the potential buyers are after, though ;) Although it might have attracted a whole new kind of crowd...

This was just over the phone, so looks had nothing to do with it.

Gender might, of course. And promises of sloppy blow-jobs. ;)

I don't know if we did the haka one. I have no idea what a haka is. ???

Perhaps! I don't know. Maybe they are just so ... stunned by the odd requests that they just don't know what to say?
