Disclaimer: Most of these films were NOT ones that I picked, but I watched them anyway.

Rambo II (second blood?) My son loved Rambo 1 and so I agreed to get him the next ... 2? 2? Anyhoo, it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd feared. Not great, but certainly watchable. And Yeah ... Sylvester was pretty hot when he was young.

Red Where the hell was I when this movie came out?? I'd never even heard of it before, and it's a pretty A list cast. Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Jon Malcovich(sp?) Helen Murrin(sp) Richard Dryfus and ...ugh, I can't think of his name.... The guy who plays Dr. McCoy in the new Trek movies.

Great action, great cast, pretty fun story etc etc. Really good action movie.

Ted Oh man, my 9 yo son REALLY wants to see this. And he can. When he's twenty. This movie had some really funny moments, but over all wasn't nearly as funny as I thought it would be.

Expendables I and II Exactly what you'd think they would be. Actually, probably a bit better than I'd expected. Some really stupid throw-away lines though.

Wreck it Ralph My husband saw it first, and really didn't like it, so I was expecting to hate it and was pleasantly surprised. It's not amazing, but it was fun and cute and more than watchable.

Snakes on a Plane WHAT THE EVER LOVING FUCK? This was OMG so bad on every single level. I knew it wasn't an oscar winner or anything, but I really expected more from Samuel Jackson. *shakes finger at him* Even putting any and all rl knowledge of snakes aside, this movie was just shit. I am disappoint.

Promethues The prequel to Aliens? *sigh* Aside from the movie people making confusing choices: (why? Why would you hire a young person to play a really, really old person? I assumed that we would see this 'old' person in their younger form, hence them slathering on unrealistic wrinkles on said young person, but no. I guess there were no old actors available that day?) this film was 'shout at the tv' stupid.

Really? You have your doctorate in ... alienology or sumsuch, and yet ... YOU TAKE YOUR HELMET OFF ALL OF 20 SECONDS AFTER LANDING ON A STRANGE PLANET? ALL OF YOU? Really, they deserved everything they got. EVERYTHING. Plus questions. WHY? Who? Was she his daughter? Why did they send so many stupid people into space? WHY?

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World
BRB. Going to kill myself. For reals. Sweet. Quirky. OMG Depressing.

Juno So ... he wasn't gay? I really expected more from this movie.

Looper Did I review this one already? I looked back and didn't see it so ...
I liked it! It had a couple of angles that I really hadn't expected, and managed to be futuristic without being all HEY LOOK AT THESE FUTURISTIC THINGS THAT WE HAVE IN THIS MOVIE!

That's it for now. Anyone seen anything good? Honestly, we were going to see a movie the other night and there was nothing that really sparked my interest.

I feel like you and I must have opposite tastes in movies. Then again, we are pretty opposite demographics, so that makes sense. ^_^ Of the ones I've seen on this list, I've pretty much liked everything you didn't and didn't like the one of these that I've seen that you liked. ^_^ The only one I'm really curious about, though, is Wreck it Ralph. I absolutely adored Wreck it Ralph, though a lot of that may come from the fact that I'm a big gamer. ^_^ I'm curious as to what your husband disliked about it so much.

But so keeping the varying demographic thing in mind, I have seen Rise of the Guardians lately and just loved it. It wasn't the deepest movie ever, but it was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed the characters and the pretty of it, and I could totally use a sequel. And if I haven't raved about Pitch Perfect, then I LOVED that and need it on DVD, and it comes out next week, so I'm excited about that. ^___^ It's a lot quirkier than you'd expect, and hell, I'm a sucker for feel good singing.

I caught Red late, too. Can't believe I didn't hear anything about it when it came out, because it was great.

Well, we're both white chicks, so we're not EXACTLY opposite demographics. :D

My all-time fav movies would be: (in no particular order)
Shawshank Redemption
Groundhog Day
Galaxy Quest
The Fugitive
Ghost Busters

Did you like any of those? ;)

Oh, meant to add that I haven't seen RotG or Pitch Perfect.

Not to mention that many of the movies on my list weren't ones that *I* wanted to see, they were ones that my KIDS picked (or that my hubby downloaded.)

Coming up I am super pumped about The Hobbit, Star Trek II and World War Z.

INORITE?

It probably came out the same weekend as the first Twilight or sumthin', and just got mowed over?

Blair Witch Project-- I don't know if it is possible to write characters more stupid than this group of clods. After getting over being angry and disapointed that I wasn't going to be scared, this movie has drinking game potential. Never have I watched a horror movie really wishing and hoping the charcters would get killed if only to stop their slacker whining.

Ugh, I suck at answering questions, sorry!

I asked him what he didn't like about it, (Wreck it Ralph) and he didn't really have an answer for me. He generally enjoys kids movies, so it wasn't that.

Maybe the characters weren't likeable enough for him? I found them both fairly engaging, although Vanillope's voice was a bit grating.

Which movie did you hate? Looper? Looking back at my reviews, I didn't really like any of them much, but many were better or more watchable than I'd anticipated. Aside from Avengers, there hasn't been a movie I've seen in the past year that I REALLY liked. Before that, it was probably Megamind, and before that, Star Trek.

At this point in my life, I'm pretty excited when something doesn't completely suck. ;)

I remember being bored during that movie, and also worried that I would puke. (just because I'd hear that some people got sick from the motion).

I didn't puke, although I did wait for it on video. ;)

Omg, if you haven't seen this already, this is my favourite... 'review' of Prometheus. It raises all the legitimate questions I had after watching that film, only hilariously.

The Hobbit was something my father read to me as a child and I watched that old rotoscoped movie a lot, so I'm SUPER looking forward to that one. ^_^ Also a major trekkie, so yes to Star Trek as well. World War Z I know I've seen commercials for, but I can't remember it. Oh, but there's a super cute movie coming out in the early spring called Warm Bodies that I'm looking for, about love fixing zombies. ^_^

I didn't *hate* it. But yeah, Looper didn't horribly impress me. It was decent enough, but I have issues with certain story telling things, like how the wife was supposed to be his motivation, but we got, what? Five minutes combined screen time for her, so I just didn't care about that, and I didn't think that the "solution" at the end of the movie really solved anything, though they were acting like it did. That and it super, super bothered me that they chose a person with detached earlobes and person with attached earlobes and wanted us to pretend they were the same person. Weird ass nitpick, but seriously? Once I noticed, I could not stop staring at their ears. O.O

Hahahaha, my reactions to Prometheus were much the same as yours. The movie had so much potential. The characters were supposed to be smart people. But there was just So Much Stupid!

I liked Life of Pi a lot, are you thinking of seeing that? And I definitely want to see the Hobbit but I'll have to wait till after Xmas to do that because I'll have $$$ then.
I loved Juno.

Is that Helen Murrin's character? I could totally see her having kick ass kids!

I go to movies by myself a lot. I'll probably wind up seeing the Hobbit by myself since I'm more into Tolkien than most of my friends (I have a couple of friends who love Tolkien as much as I do but one of them is terminally busy between his job and his school stuff and the other one hates 3D.)
