Date: 2013-01-07 03:31 am (UTC)But I'm sure it'll get better. You know. Eventually. After some more stuff. (Fans are cruel that way.)

Date: 2013-01-07 11:38 pm (UTC)Tony sure misses out on a lot of things now.
Loved that he misses the heroing part more than he misses the flying. :-)

Date: 2013-01-08 01:15 am (UTC)I'm sorry, I'm in a rambly mood today. What I mean is that I like your vulnerable Tony and understanding Bruce very much here, and that this movie and fandom and moments like this has shifted the way I see Bruce, and it's good.

Date: 2013-01-08 02:56 pm (UTC)Same with Hawkeye. I really didn't have many feels for him either way after the movie, but fandom has really made him come alive for me.

Date: 2013-01-08 03:16 pm (UTC)As over the top as that movie felt, that's how most Hulk comics feel to me. xD I was never a fan. Like many heroes my intro to the Hulk was in Amazing Spider-Man and Peter sees the good in people, even the Hulk. So I always had that bit of empathy for him even if I never really liked him.
And then Mark Ruffalo nailed it and I did pick up Planet Hulk after that and enjoyed it.

Date: 2013-01-08 10:13 pm (UTC)I'm (not so) secretly writing a massive Avengers-fic, also mainly movie-verse but inspired by comics. It's in second draft now, and it took me 73k words to get them together *G* (I'm not always that bad, but this is a big, plotty one.) Anyway, the team keep being hard to keep track of, too. I tend to focus on a couple of team members at at time, because the group scenes end up a mess, I almost always forget someone ;-) So yeah, I get you there. But you're doing great, and I certainly don't mind if this becomes a long one.

Date: 2013-01-09 08:38 am (UTC)You know, one of the things I love about this comic (apart from STEVE/TONY HC OMG) is the way this is affecting Tony. A lot of mind-altered-character genre fics play it for laughs, but I love how you really get how devastating this must be for him. I used to work with people with brain injuries, and I always felt it was worse for the ones who retained some insight, because they knew what they'd lost. You've really captured that, and I think you're awesome.

Date: 2013-01-10 02:43 pm (UTC)Thank you for your lovely words!
I have no experience with people who have brain injuries (thank goodness!) but I totally agree. Having the wherewithal to know what you have lost would be so much more heart breaking.
I think you're pretty awesome too! I seriously love your posts about your geese and doctoring. One of my big regrets in life was not going to medical school. Well, no. I regret not becoming a doctor. The actual schooling was not something I wanted. ;)

Date: 2013-01-12 03:38 pm (UTC)I'm too old for that shit. ;)
And sadly, as much as I think I would be a totally awesome doctor/surgeon, the secret art of maths has always elluded me.
Not to mention that I have two small-ish kids and my own business to run. Going back to school is just not an option that I want to persue.
Yay for drawing!! I hope you'll post some stuff? I'd be more than willing to give you some tips or pointers if you like!
