Bad News: My laptop died. Like, black screen of death. Hubby is/was a tech guy and thinks there is no bringing it back from the dead. (Not that I'd want to take it in to get fixed with the BAJILLION gay porn photos and gifs on there!!!!)

Good News: I am posting this from my brand new Mac!

Bad News: I am tech-challenged and find the Mac kind of confusing. Plus, I have no programs like photoshop etc. And all of my 'favourites' and bookmarks and stuff are lost in my old laptop. It will be a while before I figure out how to post photos and/or art or anything.

Good News: I AM POSTING THIS FROM MY BRAND NEW MAC! With a Ginormous screen. It's an actual desktop. Hubby thought that it would make more sense, since I never actually TOOK my laptop anywhere.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I did! And got a nice gift certificate to my stained glass supply store of choice, so buckle up! There shall be stained glass a plenty!

RIP, old laptop. Congratulations on getting a ginormous Mac! *Loves my Mac* I know you'll come to love yours too. Losing Photoshop is a bummer though.

I believe a happy holiday was had by all.
*waits patiently for stained glass art*

Don't worry, you'll catch soon. I was the same at first, and now I love my Mac. No more virus, no reboots, no crashes XD
Merry Christmas!!

Oh, I"m sure I will grow to love it, but I'm just so tech-impaired that it's frustrating. Don't get me wrong, I would probably be just as screwed with a new HP too.

Also, I lost SO MANY PORNY REFERENCE PICS! *cries*

I think I will grow to love this one too. … eventually.

I have a Steve Rogers window all planned out, but the Stained Glass place is closed until Jan 2, so it will have to wait a bit.

You may regret that offer!

Actually … how do I label photos that I save? And/or, should I just save them to iPhoto? Or is there a better filing system for my porn? ;)

Ah ha! I take it the hunt for new porny reference pics is ON. Could be worse .... *smirk*

iPhoto is a nice method for organizing your photos, especially if you're saving photos to your computer from your iPhone. It sorts them by when you took them and such and gives you a great way to browse through them. BUT, I don't use it for pictures that I save from the web or from my (very old) digital camera. I just save those instead to folders nested within my username folder. (my username > Pictures > myriad folders of pretty/smutty webpics organized mostly by fandom.) And if I want to change any file name, I just find the file in its folder, do a "single-click to highlight, then single-click to prepare to change the name" and type in whatever I want to call it.

Keep in mind I am a dinosaur who likes things the way the are and have been for years; some folk will probably chime in and tell you they do it newer and easier. ^_^

Welcome to happy MAC land! The good news is that we don't catch viruses! THere is a free program called "GIMP" that is similar to photoshop! I am not an expert, but if you have questions about little mac things I can probably help.

I also only keep actual photographs in IPhoto. For web stuff, I right click and open a folder and put them there. Then I drag that folder to where i want to store it. My fandom stuff is layered in pretty deep! You have to click Pictures then Icons then STR then finally will actually see pictures of nekkid Spock. ;)
