There is a Supernatural design contest and Imma enter. The design will be used on their merch, like shirts, mugs, etc. The themes are Family Business, Hunting Things and Saving People, so I've gone with a family business sign crossed with a Ouija board, but I'm not completely happy with it yet.

Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions are very much appreciated!

Maybe some pistols and/or knives with a bit of flourish in those bottom corners?

Not in the fandom, but I like it!

The only thing that jumps out at me is I want to shift the word farewell down a bit and have it a bit bigger (more spread out). I realize that means you would have to shift the words "yes" and "no" to keep the lettering lined up though.

Also, do you have a version with the top and bottom lettering showing the highlighting that you have on the logo. It's hitting me as being too flat in comparison with the logo and the detailed skull illustrations.

Just a fly-by opinion.

I like the design. It incorperates all the simbles nicely, but I wouldn't put the "farewell" at the bottom. Maybe something like "Ganking the Baddie since 1983."

Though 1983 isn't acturate as in season 8 their grandfather, Henry Winchester timetraveled from the 1950's to them trying to escape the Knight of Hell named Abbadon. Henry said that his father, grandfather, and great grandfather had all been in the "business" with the Men of Letters.

On their mother's side their grandfather Samual Campbell, said that there were Campbells ganking vampires on the Mayflower.

Also if it's going on mugs and t-shirts the woodgrain may not be the best idea. It would be hard to reproduce. I'll think on it and see what I can come up with.

Ooh, I like the Ganking thing. A bit more fun than 'est.'

I agree about the date, but was unsure exactly how to fix it. I was thinking primarily as John and sons, since that who the show is more explicitly about.

The producers of SPN said that entries could be photorealistic, so I assume the wood grain wouldn't be a problem, but it's easily remedied by putting it through a filter, if need be.

THanks for the help and ideas!!

What do you mean by 'logo'? Do you mean you'd like to see highlights on the font? I'm confused.

The "Winchester & Sons" (it looks like a logo to me, I know jack-diddly about Supernatural), do you have a version where you have those same highlights/font for the "yes" "no" and "farewell"? I'm just curious as to what it would look like since the flat lettering feels somewhat out of place to me.

Agree with the poster below about the wood grain, it would be tough to repro on merchandise, hadn't thought of that.

It might end up being too much, but you could put a salt line at the very bottom, maybe? The box on its side at the end?
Just throwing stuff out there : )

Love all the existing elements, especially the boys. Fabulous.

--I haven't seen the show, but I like the sign.

*I* would put an alphabet in an arc across the lower part-so you Could use it as a spirit board. (bring your own planchett)
..the lowest third is a little 'light' on graphics, so there is 'room' for that (or the pistols or whatever)

Maybe "Ganking Baddies for Generations" That way you're not narrowing it to an exact date.

I think they mean that the Winchester & Sons font has a line in the lettering making it look more three-d and the yes, no and farewell don't have it.

I wish there was a good way to add salt to stuff but it's really hard to draw!!

Yes, I eventually got that. It was her use of the word 'logo' that threw me off.

I see your point, but I was pretty much copying an original Ouija board, where there are two fonts. Regardless, I ended up dropping the words on the non-highlighted font anyway, so it's now moot.

Thanks for the input!

As for the wood-grain, they said that photorealistic was okay, so …? It's certainly not hard to substitute and plain bg if needed.

I was thinking of adding a planchett, but decided not to.

I think you're right, but I"m going to stick with the date, mostly because the original ouija board has numbers down there.
