elicia8 and I were talking about how wilson is always making odd faces. She drew a pic of him looking like he's eating a stuffed pepper, so I drew one with his 'pinchy face and eyes closed'.
This is so brilliant. I love you, and I am so glad you decided to pick up a piece chalk at some point in your life and scrape it across some paper.
His hair is blowing my mind. It looks uncannily realistic and glossy. And except for the fact that he appears to be sucking a lemon while listening to some trippy Pink Floyd music (which was the point, of course), his expression is just adorable.
Well, not to stroke you too much (but you're having a bad day, so I will! :D ) I really hadn't attempted anything in colour until you posted your tutorial. I'd done a couple of watercolour things, but they were more cartoony than realistic.
Whatever that stoopid bitch might think, you contribute lots to plenty of REAL people. Would it be any different if we were writing paper letters instead of on livejournal? Not really!
My mother has also made a comment about doing something 'real' with my art. I was like..."Real? Do you mean making money? Because money doesn't make anything more 'real'. I HAVE a job. I don't need or want another one. Drawing fanart makes me happy. 'nuff said.
I had to comment . . . I'm so sick of my boyfriend complaining that my I'm wasting my time writing my huge-ass fanfic or drawing fanart because "it isn't going to make you any money". Hello, art isn't about f*&@-ing money!!!! UGH! People like that annoy me . . . Sorry to barge in, but you made a good point.
Tell your boyfriend, the next time he's playing sports or watching sports on tv...That he's not making any money doing that, he'll never be good enough to go 'pro' so why bother?
Perhaps that will be in a context that he'll understand better.
There are lots of people who enjoy your art and fic. That alone should be enough for EVERYBODY!
I've learned so much while in fandom. Most people are so generous, and giving, with advice, beta work, praise and concrit. Plus...IT'S FUN! :D
I hate the whole 'you can't make money with it' argument. It seems that chestnut comes mostly from parents who don't understand the sheer pleasure of just drawing/painting what we like for the sake of doing so. Ah well.
I don't know Wilson (!) but that doesn't stop me from loving his face. Great job!
I love that expression but refuse to admit I look the same way when listening to music, but with more conducting to self. It's both cartoony and realistic, the sort of picture that would be fun to hold a caption contest for.
I'm afraid I’m not sure I understand correctly the signification of ‘dibs’, do you mean that you want to be the next person to draw one of my House manip? Or that you will want to draw my next House manip, even without knowing what I will do? Or something else?
Sorry! Us English speakers just assume that everyone else speaks it too!
Dibs, or first dibs is sort of slang for I get the 'rights' to draw the next one. It's the sort of thing that kids would say. "I call DIBS on the front seat!" Or something like that. :D
I would like to see it first, of course, I'm not good enough to draw just anything, but I would love the oppourtunity to draw one of your manips, if that's okay with you!
Ah okay! When you will see one that inspired you to try your hand on, just ask me and unless it was made for someone in particular, I’ll probably say yes. And be excited about it! :-)
He's not into sports, though. But I get what you're saying. He's a video game freak, though and he makes no money while sitting on his arse playing RPGs when he gets home. *LOL!*
He's just a dork. But I love him anyways. Hopefully when we get a house (that's the reason he's claiming to be money-hungry lately) he'll calm down.
AHAHAH, oh god. This is brilliant xD I can't stop giggling. His expression is perfect. Kudos for the skin, as always, I love the shading and the colors. Awesome job with the eyebrows :D
