Wow, I can hardly believe another year has passed! *looks around bewildered* 2007 will always be the year that I discovered COLOUR! (yes, with a 'U', fuck off, I'm Canadian, eh?) Special hugs go to elicia8 for her crayon tutorial that clicked that one working synapsis in my brain, and it all suddenly made sense to me. 2007 also found me dabbling in *gasp* another fandom! House will never replace HP, but one can never have enough Snarky Bastards in one's porn aresenal, can one?

I don't know if it is STILL my best, but it sure was at the time. (back in Jan). Also, considering I hadn't really seen the show much, I still think I got a good grip of the character. (thanks to a stellar ref photo, of course!)

Most Fun to Draw


I love the Simpsons, but I've never tried to draw them. My only regret here is that I used watercolour instead of pencil crayons. Although, at the time, I didn't have any pencil crayons, so...whaddayagonnado?

Most Underappreciated

I don't really have any complaints about comments. I get tons of them and they are generally all lovely and generous. I dunno about this pic though. I guess I wowed myself more than anyone else! :D

Biggest Surprise

Ha, as a counter point to the Davy Jones pic, I tossed this one off, last minute, and wasn't very happy with it at all, and it got TONS of praise. Heaps and gobs and truckloads of it. *puzzles* It just goes to show you that how much time/work/effort/thought that you put into something has little/nothing to do with how good/enjoyable/well recieved something will be.

Hardest to Do both of my Snarry Games arts


This one was difficult, because I had a very specific pose in mind, and could not, for the life of me, find a reference pic for it. I eventually made TWO OF MY EMPLOYEES pose for me. (two women, mind). They were lovely about it, but a bit worried, I'm sure. :D I also had tons of help from my team members that made this way better than it would have been otherwise.



This one kicked my arse because of the sleeve. EVERYONE! LOOK AT THE TEXTURE ON HIS COAT!! No! CLICK ON IT TWICE AND REALLY, REALLY LOOK! I sooo don't do clothes! I admire them in other people's art, but I'm too lazy/untalented to draw them myself. That sleeve both killed me, and made me pretty fekking happy.

Most Proud Of


Generally, I draw from photo references, and my goal is to make them as close as possible to the picture. Sometimes, they turn out even better. Not more realistic, of course, but this pic is ... darker and somehow bigger than the original. It was totally by fluke, but I'll gladly take credit for it.

funniest

For me, (because I am 12 years old) humour is right-in-your-face, slapstick, falling down, getting hit in the balls with a bludger (or two old creepy guys making teh buttsects). In this pic, all of the funny stuff is ABOUT to happen. The picture itself is not really funny at all, but the HUMOUR POTENTIAL is exponential! Since this is not how my brain normally works, it makes me proud!

What I want to be remembered by

Okay, assuming that you all have eyes left after my 'wrong' pics, I am insanely proud and thrilled by my QFI work. Looking back (two years now!!) and seeing such progress it satisfying.

It never ceases to boggle me how fast you've gotten so good. And the second one from the Snarry Games still stops me dead in my tracks. It's so intense. Srsly? You hated all three movies? My guess is, that you get to see movies lots, (cause you're young and childless). For me, if movies don't involve cartoon mice and/or talking cars, I walk away pretty fuckin' entertained.

In fact, I even find well done cartoon mice pretty fucking entertaining. (ratitioulle or howeverthefuck you spell it.)

Thank you! An art tip I recieved from a local artist (non fandom) where I live was "every pic needs the darkest darks and the lightest lights.)

I try not to tell many people online about my sekrit hate for PoTC, ehehe. I haven't even bothered to watch the last one, because the first two were so uninteresting for me...I dunno. I like Johnny Depp (21 Jump Street, FTW!) and I like Orlando Bloom, but I just had no love for the PoTC characters? I guess? I thought it was maybe that I never quite understood people's adoration of the Disneyland ride in the first place; but everyone worldwide loves PoTC as well, so now I'm just left with 'meh.'

But shhhhh! Don't tell anyone or I'll be stripped of my fangirl status. ;D
