Help me pick a scene, dear flist!

I have signed up for the hp_art_project and if you're not familiar with it, it's a cool idea, that each chapter of each book is assigned two artists, who draw a scene. All the pics are then compiled into a book and sent to JKR.

My assignment was Book 5, chapter 37.

Oddly enough, Snape is not having sex with Harry (or anyone else) anywhere in that chapter.

WHAT SHOULD i DRAW???

Plz to be taking a peek there, and letting me know what you think I should do.

There is a lot of talking and not a lot of doing in this chapter, and one cool scene, where Harry throws a bunch of stuff around DD's office would be a fekking NIGHTMARE for me to draw, because I suck at all things linear and vanishingpointey.

All suggestions are welcome!

Lessee, glancing through the chapter....

- Harry when he first gets back to the office, trying not to talk to Phineas Nigellus?

- Dumbldore, with the sun rising; perhaps going through the window so there's not so much office interior to do?

- A compound scene? With Dumbledore telling Harry what he'd held back with little inset scenes illustrating those bits? Or perhaps insets of him watching Harry grow up?

- Harry and Dumbledore looking at the Pensieve Trelawney?

Okay, I'm just brainstorming here:
--Harry trying to get out of the locked door, with DD standing watching.
--a scene with the sun rising, streaming in the window, Harry and DD are sitting across from one another. Fawkes is in his tray, tiny and featherless
--the moment when Harry understands Kreacher's pefidy--the description is of him breathing shallowly and clenching his fists. You can imagine the look on his face.
--Harry is pacing through the wreck of the office, gesturing wildly, almost screaming about Sirius, while DD is seating, looking resigned, letting him rant.
--ooo, Harry looks on, disgusted, standing there as DD buries his face in his hands.
--oh here's the obvious one, the Pensieve scene. You could do any number of things with this. Showing Harry watch as DD draws the gossamer strands from his temple. But the best one, yanno, would be Sybill doing a Princess Leia, spinning out of the basin.
--at the end, still in shock, Harry looks up to see the tear trickling down DD's face.

Yeah, I know, no possibility at all for comedy. But all sorts of possibilities for light--how the sun play off Gryffindor's sword, and all the broken glass, etc. I know how you love details. :)

I think the moment where we see Dumbledore almost cry with that solitary tear would be a beautiful scene to draw.

The scene where Dumbledore sheds a tear may be good.

If it's any consolation, I'm having a hell of a time with my assignment. I've got Book 1, the Diagon Alley chapter. I already picked my scene, but the fact that it's book 1 is giving me trouble. Im terrible at drawing kids, they always look too old!

The sunset(rise?) on DD's face was one that struck me too.
The inset scenes sounds neat too! And I could draw them separately and just photoshop them together!

Actually, knowing that you are having a tough time *is* a consolation to me! *g* No really, I admire your stuff, and if *you're* having a tough time, then mine is more than justified.

The deadline has been moved to Aug, so there's no rush.

I haven't absolutely picked a scene yet. I'm feeling a lot of pressure to do something REALLY good, so I'll probably do a couple of scenes, and then send in the best one.

Hee! Thanks! I was a bit disappointed to get this chapter, since to me, the books should be called "Snape and the Snape of Snape's Snape Snape" but I persevered. (not perversed)

I would love to do a Snape chapter myself, but my wishes for the chapters include: Harry, Dumbledore, Snape, and/or maaaybe Hermione. But if I get a chapter that only has the Weasleys or the Slytherins (with the exception of Draco and Lucius...I think I can paint them)...I think I'm kind of screwed.
