I'm trying a new ink technique called Pointillation (or sumsuchthing). Basically, like pixels, you make a trillion-kabillion-zillion little dots, and eventually, over the course of centuries, a form will appear.

It looks really cool, but I am not a patient person. In pencil, I would probably be finished the entire drawing by now, instead of just part of Snape's face. But then, I'd have nothing to bitch about in my post now, would I? ;D

Oooh I remember studying that technique, although it was in High School. It..drove me INSANE. Yes some part of me still found the urge to do a mixed media project using it, the result of which came out good enough to go on my wall.

That looks really good so far. I like your normal style OF COURSE XD But that picture definitely has an added layer of awesome, his face just looks particularly good.

Well, here's hoping the rest of it turns out well too. Nothing worse than spending a ton of time doing something and it SUCKS! :D I'll have to re-draw Harry's face, I think it's too big.

Dear God! I could not imagine trying this in highschool. I would have lasted about five seconds. Now, with two kids and my own business, the thought of doing nothing but making tiny dots on paper has a fresh, new appeal!

Nice! Pointilism looks fantastic when finished, but yeah it's a real pain to actually do!

It BETTER look good when it's finished! *grumbes incoherently* Honestly, I could have drawn 3 finished pieces by now!

Dude, if your patience got you that far, that's a helluva lot of patience you got going there, zomg. This is so time-consuming, but so rewarding in the end, I'm just so much in awe that you're doing a whole pic in point.

WOW!

Did I say I was doing the WHOLE pic? ;^) *grumbles about BLACK FUCKING HAIR and tiny dots*

I think it's awesome that you're trying that. I certainly don't have the patience for it. But yeah, it looks awesome. I look forward to seeing the finished picture. ^_^

Hee! I'm not sure *I* have the patience either! Time will tell, I suppose. It's certainly not something I'm going to be doing all the time, I tell ya!

Yeah. I started one of these back in high school. I'm thinking that if I worked on it every day since I might be 1/10th done with it by now. I suppose my great-great-great grandchildren could always finish it for me.

Yeah, pointillism is a bitch, I remember doing that once in my high school watercolors class. I was actually doing my thoughts of an artistic rendering of some choice lines from The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe. It came out pretty trippy.
