OMG! Is it joanwilder's birthday already?

Without turning into a dithering sap (too late!) I just want to tell everyone on my flist, that not only is she my fav author, but she is one of my favourite people too. We've shared many emails and cards over the past few years, and she is always so kind and generous (and OMG ouch!Sarcastic!!!).

I had the honour of rooming with her and her daughter amand_r at Terminus, and I had such a good time! Jesus, they are so funny and sweet and evil in such a deliciously good way.

I remember being in awe of her as a writer, when I was brand-new to fandom, and I contacted her to see if she wouldn't mind me drawing some art for one of her fics. I didn't hear back for months (stuck up bitch!) but a mutual friend found out that I'd used the wrong address. ;D

Anyhoo, when I *did* finally get in touch with her, she was so sweet and enthusiastic and I was afraid that she would get all BNF in my face. No so.

Happy Birthday, my wonderful Raewhit! Fandom is SUUUCH a better place with you in it! Thanks for being so sweet to me when I was a n00b.

You SO had better be going to Azkatraz!!!! (and introducing me to your handsome son ..)

You're right, I am old. And I'm in my usual January funk, wishing I were dead.

I thought your post said, 'thanks for being so sweet to me when I was a boob...' See, I think it's mostly your fault that I misread that...

I'll make sure you meet my son, but I probably won't be there, helas.

Thanks for making me laugh; it's over now, so I can go back to the cupboard under the stairs and sulk until March.
