Epic Fail Chick

Why? Why? Why do I always wallow in fail when it comes to the Daily Deviant site, over on insane journal?

I manage to run a business, keep my children (reasonably) clean and fed, take care of my pets, take care of my husband *wink wink*, write and draw pronz on a regular basis and mod hump_day_smut, but I cannot, for the life of me, get my shit together for DD!

My submission day used to be the first of the month. A day that was PICKED BY ME and yet, I had a horrible time getting my art in on time. It got sooo bad that I basically dropped out of the comm, in shame, because I was so full of fail.

At Terminus, many nice people assured me that I was still welcome and they'd love to have me back, so I returned, AND WAS STILL MADE OF FAIL. I had my submission day changed, hoping that it would make a difference. I looked at the theme with plenty of time to plan, and I was just checking in today, to look over the themes again, to see if I might be struck with inspiration, and guess what? MY ART WAS DUE TODAY! WTF? For some stoopid reason, I thought my new day was the 26th, and um ... yeah... no. It's the 22nd. Of course, I found this out AT ELEVEN O'CLOCK AT NIGHT!

Much flailing and scrambling later, I managed to crank this out. (in just over an hour.)
Let's see if I can be slightly more ... together next month.


And just a note: The mods there have been nothing but wonderful, it is 100% ME that sucks donkey balls.

Aw, that is very sweet! I *think* I should be okay, now that I actually KNOW the date. I was originally going to request the 26th,(which is why I thought that was my date) but it had already been claimed, so then I asked for the 22 instead.

Next month should be better.

Thank you. In the light of day (ie. I'm not dead tired) his head looks rediculously small, but I tend to draw heads way too big, so it's probably just fine.

See? That's the difference in our styles. I don't do any prelim drawings. I just draw.

It's wrong (according to teh bookz) but meh, I do it anyway. At least, when I'm drawing from a reference. If I'm sketching people freehand, I'll draw a circle with the cross through it for the face. I don't do circles or anything for the bodies though, I just wing it.

My eraser is my friend. :D

Aw, thanks hon! I"m not bummed that I forgot ONCE. I'm bummed that I just can't seem to get my shit together when it comes to this comm. I mean, I NEVER hand shit in late! (when it comes to internet pron, anyway. I was horrid in school and stuff).
