Spencer update and Thank you!
May. 11th, 2009 11:54 pmFirst of all: SPENCER IS DOING VERY WELL! He's not completely out of the woods yet, but he actually WALKED today!!! and was interested in food, which is always a good sign. We went back to the vet for more x-rays and exams and while he still has some odd shadows on his heart and lungs, his colour is good and his breathing seems fine.
Your thoughts, prayers and manic finger crossing seemed to have helped. Which brings me to my second of all: THANK YOU!
You have no idea how much all of your comments meant to me. I cried at every single one! One word or twenty, you all were so kind to take the time and read my plight and comment and it really touched me. Thank you!
Harrison was very pleased to see his Spencer was doing better today. Last night I lay down with him until he fell asleep, and the poor boy just cried and cried. And really, his pain is much harder to bear than the death of our dog!
And little Quincey; his bedroom door was closed, so I knocked, and entered, and he was playing on his bed with some Legos. "Are you okay?" I asked, and he said yes, then he grabbed a long piece of toilet paper that he had with him and sort of hid it a bit.
"What's that for?" I asked, and he looked up at me with wet eyes. "It's in case I cry."
Needless to say, we both did for a while.
Thank you all again, for your kind words and thoughts. I appreciate them more than you might ever know.
*hugs my flist tightly*

His legs aren't broken. One has a catheter in it and the other had a cut, so it's stitched up.

Date: 2009-05-12 05:34 am (UTC)I seem to have missed the original post, but I'm glad to hear he's doing well, and will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. And Quincy with the toilet paper made me tear up too.

Date: 2009-05-12 05:57 am (UTC)The stories about your kids broke my heart :( They love their doggie so much. Its crazy how attached they can get so young! My dog was run over Feb 2008 and had to be put down. My daughter was not even 3 then, and she STILL talks about how she misses Maggie.
Don't give up, Spencer! :D We're all pullin for you!

Date: 2009-05-12 06:10 am (UTC)Holy cow I feel so bad for your kids though. Poor Harrison, this stuff is absolutely heartbreaking. I mean, I know he'll be okay but holy shit is it hard. *Sends some happy to your kids*
Think any doggy pictures would help in the long run to cheer them up? ;) ...Or just make it worse ^^;
