Oh yeah! So yesterday, I had the day off work, and both kids were in school ... and um ... yeah. I snuck out and saw Star Trek again. I didn't tell my hubby, because I was sure to get a thorough mocking.

When he asked how my day was, I blurted out that I MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE SEEN STAR TREK AGAIN TODAY. He got very angry. THAT I DIDN'T BRING HIM. :D

I told him I'd see it again, and bring him. We just have to work out a day that the kids are both in school (only happens on full moon/aquarius in virgo/planets aligning days). Maybe next week!

Anyhoo, here is my semi-lame attempt at an action shot. I really need a book or site with good action poses. I have "People and Poses" book, (Kirk's pose came from there) but I really wanted sort of Marvel Superhero type BAM! POW! type poses. *sigh*

Oh, and I really need to learn how to draw shoes without a reference. Seriously bad shoes in this pic.

I love the moment when they hit the Narada and both bring up their phasers to start shooting, just, there's a split second when they're both all starting to move to the side but shooting forward?

I also love the expression on this Romulan *points at icon* --he's about to get crisped.

K1 was VERY ANNOYED WITH ME for the time I went without him. Heh.

Thank you! I'm fairly new to 'comic book style' art, so each one is a learning experience. This one was fun to do. i swear I re-drew Spock about 20 times. He kept being too big, and then not posed right, and then his leg looked wrong, etc etc. He's still in an odd position (like he's about to jump on Kirk's back) but hey ... that's okay too!

Patterns of chest hair Force ,eh? Gotta link? I ended up seeing quite a few TOS when I was a kid, but mostly because my brother was bigger than me, and always had control of the remote.

Actually, SCRATCH THAT! There WAS no remote back then!! ahaha! But he had control of the DIAL on the tv. *snicker*

I don't have a link because I watch all my episodes on DVD, but Patterns of Force is the one where they go to the Nazi planet. It's also the only episode where Spock is shirtless (hence the Chest Hair bit). They've both been whipped (and neither of them seem too traumatized by it either, like they do this sort of thing all the time), and they're in a prison cell and they're still shirtless with some nice looking welt marks (Spock's are a pretty green, naturally), and in an attempt to escape, Spock has to climb onto Kirk's back (which, as I mentioned, has just been whipped and bears some lovely welt marks), and Kirk is only too happy to oblige, even though there's a bed, like, right next to them which Spock could have easily stood on. And despite Kirk's half-assed tolken complaints Spock takes his damn time with it, making idle conversation as he goes, because he knows the Captain really enjoys this sort of thing, otherwise he would've said the safety word...

I dunno if I'm spelling that right, but my God, that fight scene in Amok Time is so kinky sex that it's not even... I mean, the ahn-woon? The first weapon they used actually looked deadly, but then for some reason they give that up in favour of something that's a cross between a whip and a rope! Not very logical. And then they have a safety word! And there's rubbing up against each other and then Spock is no longer in his sex-fever because he got physical with Kirk. Uhm...?

Their shoes are adorable!! Very hipster. XD Also, I loooooove your Kirk, love love love! He's perfect, especially with his mouth all hanging open, ehehehe. Action poses are so very fun and the best thing I'm finding about drawing ST characters is their uniforms, SO NO-FUSS. XD XD

Also, interesting how the characters do not look excessively like the TOS cast *or* the Reboot cast. You've sort of made your own Spock and Kirk!
