Whoops, sorry, I had no idea it was locked. The massage is: Most of you have likely heard by now that simons_flower died in her home yesterday at age 37, leaving a husband, a school-age daughter, and a lot of people reeling. I didn't know Trisha as well as some, but am glad to report that because fandom is family, someone is already trying to help, by bringing two of the people who talked to her daily to her funeral, whenever it is (not yet known). The following is pasted from abigail89, and is not visible to Minnie and Annie; should you wish to also signal-boost, please also filter:
Now, madam_minnie and tqpannie have lost one of their soul sisters and are not only battling with the mind numbing grief in the wake of simons_flower’s passing, but are also faced with the stress of not being able to afford to go to her funeral. They both live far enough away to require plane tickets to get there and as of right now neither of them has the money to afford it—not even close. The truth is, if we don’t help them they won’t get to go to Trisha’s funeral. I truly believe that Trisha would want them there because she loved them and it’s important that they have a chance to say goodbye to her. Her family has expressed a desire for both of them to be there because they all knew how important both madam_minnie and tqpannie were to Trisha.
redblaze and I (abigail89) have started up a fund in the hopes of raising the money to get the plane tickets in time. It goes without saying that time is of the essence on this. We understand that times are hard for all of us, but we were hoping that if a lot of us could give a little we could raise the approximately $1000 needed to fly both of them there. I (again, Abigail89) have a Pay Pal account where you can go and donate, even $5 dollars will make a difference and if you could help us spread the word, post in your own LJ’s about the fund, tell anyone who has enjoyed The Quidditch Pitch which was the child of this wonderful friendship, I really think we could do it. Time and again, this fandom has astounded us with the amazing love it offers each other at the times when we most need it. We’re capable of great things, we can get madam_minnie and tqpannie to the funeral to say goodbye to their Hermione.
