And yet even more Trek art
Aug. 17th, 2009 10:55 pmI had two hours to kill today, while my kids were at Sylvan Leaning Center. They're both a tad behind in their reading skillz, so we thought we'd give them a little boost before school starts. Anyhoo, I reach into my art bag and guess what? NO REFERENCE PICS! WTF? I always have tons, but not today. Then, out of my watercolour pad falls a screenshot from nuTrek, so hey. I draw it.
Not a very inspired pose, but way more fun that reading Women's Home Weekly or whatever dreck they have to read there.
I sketched and inked it there, then watercoloured it at home. Just for shits and giggles, here's what they both looked like.

I'm still not where I want to be, skill-wise, but I had lots of fun with different techniques, like wet on wet *wink*, lifting and using a spray bottle.

Your trek is fantastic. I like the bg colouring actually. It's just neat.

Date: 2009-08-18 04:50 am (UTC)Actually, when we first went for the assessment, I literally had to drag Harry in, kicking and screaming. So I went to the age old parenting trick,
beatingsbribery. I promised him a playstation if he finishes the two weeks. Needless to say, his attitude re-adjusted itself quite quickly. (I probably would have eventually bought him one anyway, but don't tell him that)As for the artz, thanks! I like the bg too. It seems very ... ninth circle of hell-ish. You know, the one you go to for buttsexing too much.

Well if anyone deserves to go to hell for too much buttsexing, it would be James Tiberius Kirk.
