Hey flist! *smooches you*

I've been looking for dvd's of TOS Star Trek for a while now, and while I've bid on them on eBay, and found single seasons in the store, they've all ended up a bit too rich for my blood.

Would anyone have some that they're 'done' with? or be willing to burn copies for me?

I will pay you in cash, or art or cash AND art.

Thanks in advance!

[livejournal.com profile] bossymarmalade might have 'acquired' all of ToS - she just has to go through them and make sure they are working.

If so, we can ttly arrange something! Should I email you?

I sent an email off to someone to see if I can wrangle anything up for you...we'll see!

Otherwise I can ask my dad tomorrow cause he's a Trekkie and might have something xD

That would be great! I have a couple of leads elsewhere, but nothing solid yet. so let me know before you start doing lots of work or anything.

I have possibly found someone selling the DVD sets for $10 a season, is that something you'd be interested in? It's pretty cheap but not as cheap as free from friends, so let me know.

Dumb question though...do DVDs in the US work on DVD players in Canada? I get confused about...regions.

Oh man, that IS cheap! I'm def interested, but let's see if the FREE optioin works out or not first. And yes, dvd's are the same throughout north america. *g* We even speak English here too! *pokes you*

I own it all, I am not sure how able I am to crack and copy them, as they are (gasp) legit copies (I know, vtf?)... have you got someone handling this for you yet?

Someone is 'on' it, but nothing confirmed yet.

I hear your pain, I am SO not tech savvy!

I'll let you know if plan #1 doesn't work out.

I have the entire series on DVD as well as the movies... I'll look into seeing how to rip them if no one else has them regularly available, but I'm not sure how to go about doing so exactly since they're legitimate copies.

Oooh, MOVIES! I totes want them too!

Hmm.. some dvds seem to be protected, and others aren't. My friend (who is too cheap to buy ANYTHING) has some sort of override software, so she can copy anything, but she doesn't have those shows.

Glock is looking into the tv shows, but I would really love the movies too!

I have no idea how it is done though, as I am technologically retarded. It is honestly nothing short of a miracle that I get online at all! :D

I have a couple friends who are good at hacking and cracking and that sort of thing. The movies are actually on Blu-Ray so I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I'll talk to them about it. If there is a way to rip the movies, they'll know how!

I don't know what Blu ray is. I mean, I've HEARD it, but I don't exactly know what the difference is, except that they're not compatible. I have no idea if you can download/upload to different formats or what.

Seriously, i don't know shit about that kind of stuff. If you could rip the movies, I would be in your debt!

Apparently, if you use VideoLAN player to play back the files, you can watch ripped Blu-Ray files. However, if you want to copy them onto a disc I'm not sure if it's possible without a blu-ray burner or whatnot. I will look into it!

I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but we DO have a bluray player. *cough* i didn't know! *blush*

Hubby bought a ps3 the other day, and just now mentioned that it plays bluray disks too.
