It was nice out, so I grabbed the camera to do my annual STATE OF THE FUNSTER FARM address.
Be warned, pics of cute animals and cuter kids ahead. And needless to say, IMAGE HEAVY.




Let's start with Moses, the African spur thigh tortoise. He's gotta be pushin' 45lbs. Maybe even 50. I'm not sure where his girlfriend (Little Mo) is, but she's around somewhere. And yeah, I need to rake out their enclosure. I tried to take a picture with my foot in there, for size reference, but they kept trying to bite my toes! They're not mean, but they think the nail polish looks tasty.


My human pets, Harry and Quincey, catching godonlyknowswhat out of the pond. I have seen some VERY SCARY bugs in there. *shudders*


Quincey holding 'King' the rooster. Funny story: We also have a 'Queen' chicken, same breed as king, but lately he's been hanging out with a smaller, grey chicken. Harry says to me: King's been seeing another girl behind Queen's back. KIND OF LIKE GRANDPA JOHN. Oh my shitbears! I just about choked! Yes my dad is a lying, cheating bastard, but man o man, that cracked my shit up!

Sarah and Spencer in THEIR JAIL TO KEEP THEM OFF THE HIGHWAY. Actually, we do let them out still, but only while supervised. Spencer seems to have no ill effects from being run over, other than he yelps if you press on his sternum. That's where he took the main impact, and the bone there got splinched. He runs around like a total knob, though, so don't cry any tears for him.


The boys and Hogrid. Ya know, I took about a hundred pictures of him today, so I could post a nice one, and I have decided that pot bellied pigs just don't HAVE a 'good side'. He's just ugly, no matter how you slice him. mmmmm bacon! He really is a sweetie though. mmmmmhoneyham .....


The newest addition to our family, 'Beautiful'. Quincey named her, don't ask. Our neighbours like to NOT FIX OR FEED their cats, so the ones that don't get run over manage to find their way to our house, where they DO get fixed and fed. She is SUCH a sweetheart! OMG! We already have two semi-incontinent cats that live in the house, so Beautiful is destined to be an barn cat.


Jimmy MacElroy and Fairchild. man, I really need a bigger pen for them. She was sitting on eggs for a while then a DAMN RACCOON broke her eggs! And KILLED ONE OF MY CHICKENS! I tell ya, if i ever get my hands on that raccoon, my rep as an animal lover is gonna take one helluva hit.


Our ducks, 'Donald and Selima'. Don't ask. Another Quincey name. I wish I'd named him Redd Foxx, because he has a crazy limp, and he waddle/limps around quacking at people. Good times.


Harry having a turn with Love Muffin, and Quincey holding Beautiful. She is his FAVOURITE cat. My god, I spend all day discussing my FAVOURITE, second favourite, third favourite etc etc things with him. It would be cute, if it didn't make me want to drink so badly.

So, that brings us to the end of our tour. I somehow managed to miss our other horse Mr. Snippets, and our two goats, Bella and Prof Sprout, plus about a million other chickens, our two house cats, our other barn cat, and assorted reptiles. Another day, I suppose.

I am so so happy about the peacock named Jimmy MacElroy. I mean, YOU KNOW THIS, IT'S A GIVEN. But the level of joy it brings me.. xD

I LOVE ALL YOUR ANIMALS. ALL OF THEM. That kitty's name is really fitting though you know. That Hogrid gets lots of love too, I love pot bellies!

Oh yeah, my kids keep me entertained, that's for sure! You'd also bust a gut to hear them talk about the peacocks, because they call him by his full name, but like it's one word.

No, I did not! How cool is that? I have a flister that pretty much runs a Rescue Hospital for all sorts of animals, but her farm ain't got nothing on yours. But she does have a duck in a wheelchair. :)

And LOL, as long as the animals and the porn NEVER mix! Or you know, only occasionally mix. ;)

I should probably take BETTER care of them all, but meh. They have love and food, and the barn gets cleaned out OCCASIONALLY. :D

Hey, believe it or not, IT WAS A FOX! (I mean, there was a raccoon too, I saw it,) but my husband SHOT A FOX IN OUR CHICKEN COOP TODAY!

there was great excitement and trauma and drama (and another one of my chickens got eaten :( ) but hubby trapped the 'raccoon' and it turned out to be a fox!

I feel bad that it was killed, but um ... i'm pretty pissed that it ate TWO of my original chickens, that I'd had for like, 4 years. grrrr
