Comish finished! Yay!
Aug. 28th, 2009 11:24 pmA couple of weeks ago,
lilyseyes asked me to draw a Severitus (at least, I *think* that's what this is. I'm not actually sure what that term exactly means) for her, and we decided to send the money to the fund for
simons_flower instead of doing an actual commision.
I hope you like it hon!

Date: 2009-08-30 02:42 am (UTC)and yeah, that was such a crappy thing, about simon's flower. Hopefully it gave her family some comfort, knowing that her friends cared enough to send her close friends.

Date: 2009-08-30 02:56 am (UTC)I use the Lyra Titan woodless pencils, hb for outline sketch, then a 4b for the shading. Sometimes a 6b for really dark stuff, but I didn't this time.
For blending I use VERY EXPENSIVE AND RARE Kirkland brand (ie. the Cosco store brand) paper towel. I'm sure any brand would do, but that's what we happen to have in the house.
OMG MY SEEKRIT IS OUT!

Date: 2009-08-29 05:22 pm (UTC)Every single detail of this--from the baby elbow to the whisps of escaping hair from both figures--is utterly exquisite. You've truly captured a moment, an interaction, and two quite distinct people. Bravo!

Date: 2009-08-30 03:00 am (UTC)Diversity is fun to draw. The big nose vs the little, the thick black hair vs the wisps.
I had a lot of fun doing this one. Thanks so much for stopping by!
