I'm gonna sleep with Captain Kirk!
Oct. 22nd, 2009 11:23 pmFor reals! Well, once I sew this thing to a pillow. For now, I think I'll just wear it like a thong ... or a diaper, judging from the size of it.
kiwicoy did great cross stitch patterns of the cast of TOS, and I was so impressed with her Kirk that I said to myself: Self? I wanna do that too! Except, HOW CAN I MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT, TIME CONSUMING AND COSTLY?? And then, because I am very good at wasting both time and money, I thought .... BEADS! I shall buy many coloured beads and SEW THEM TO A MUTHERFUCKIN' CLOTH. And so I did!

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with me? This took ... forever. And I have this weird disease where I hate to start something when I've already got something else on the go. Now, I have about a billion fest things to complete.
Here's a detail shot:

And durrr... I have very little grasp of the mathematical (or symmetrical) and, of course, when I started this project, I didn't understand that if I changed the spacing on the pattern (due to the beads being a different shape than a cross stitch) THEN THE ENTIRE PICTURE WOULD BE WARPED. I managed to figure it out like ... 5 hours in, so I had to rip it all apart and start over.
Hey, another cool thing,
kiwicoy has made a cross stitch pattern out of my drawing Kock or Spork
I'm dying to see what that will look like when it's stitched!
