Yay! 2009 was so much fun! There was HP and Blades and OMG STAR TREK ATE MY BRAIN! even though I invited it to eat other things too... 2009 also brought different mediums, like COSTUMES and SCULPTING and BEAD WORK! Sadly, some of my fav works were done for fests that have not done reveals yet, so I cannot include them here *sob* but let's take a quick look back and see what I DID do!

BEST ART CONTRAST Snape/Hagrid

Drawn for HP Beholder. I just love this fest. Ugly people are almost more beautiful than pretty ones. Okay, that's not exactly true, but I really like finding the beauty there.

#2 Comish for Lilyeyes. SEVERITUS (which still sounds like a disease to me, btw.)

What I learned here? Babies are hard to draw. Trufax.

MOST PROUD OF
Pointillition Snarry

This took sixty-five years to complete.
Honestly, WTF was I thinking? I will NEVER, EVER take on a project like this again.

Except of course, THIS ONE!

No wonder my numbers are down! I think I found a rip in time and aged like sixteen years, just in 2009 alone!

MOST UNDERAPPRECIATED
You guys are the best, and I never feel unappreciated. Except for this pic, which WAS NEVER EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED by it's recipient in an exchange fest I was in. I even politely poked them, to say 'Hey! Did you see this?' And nothing.

But now, it has a brand new home with Eeyore999 and she fondles it every day. <3

WRONG, EVEN FOR ME
Sadly, I did not live up to my 'Mistress of Squick' title much this year. TOO BUSY SEWING EFFIN' BEADS! I do have some 'old man porn' in an as of yet not revealed fest, which I'll post soon, so in the meantime, take these:

The Daily Deviant theme was Oral Sex While Menstrating

Ouch!

Prompt was AWESOMESAUCE.

BIGGEST SURPRISE

This pic was featured in a Trek article in one of Sweden's largest newspapers. That was extremely unexpected and cool! And [livejournal.com profile] kiwicoy did a cross stitch of it, which just blew me away!On DevArt

And lastly, this one, which I just posted a couple of days ago really elicited an emotional response from many people, which surprised and pleased me. It was a pic that I started and stopped quite a few times, due to fest deadlines and xmas preparations, so I lost my mojo with it, and finished it off a lot more quickly than I would have liked. It was supposed to be a taller pic, with more of Snape's leg and arm, but I was OVER IT already, and just cropped it short. And wow! You guys just blew me away with your response. <3 <3 <3

COSTUME
My mini Gene Simmons:
This one was SO FUN! Quincey was just SO DAMN PROUD of it! When we went to the KISS concert, people were giving him hi-fives, and thumbs up and asking to take his photo. He felt like a real rock star that night!

All in all a good year! I drew 45 finished pics, plus 23 pages of my Blades of Glory graphic novel (which I HAVE to finish grrr), 42 or so peenlulz drawbles,20 or so Azkatraz drawbles four costumes, one sculpture and the Beaded Kirk. whew!

Let's hope 2010 is even more productive!!
Thanks so much to my lovely flist for sticking around, and a big wave to all my new friends out there. I hope this post doesn't scare you too much. I'll be posting some fun fest stuff in the next few days.

I'm pretty sure I never commented on it, but I absolutely love the second pic. You did an amazing job catching their expressions. Gratz on accomplishing so much, and I wish you the best of luck this coming year.

Lots of good work here. I know I saw all of these, can't remember if I commented on each and every one but you know I love your work anyway.

You MUST finish that Blades comic so I can stick some music on it!

YOU MUST COMMENT ON ALL OF MY ART! GO BACK TO 2005 RIGHT NAOW!

Yes, I MUST finish Iceman! I have one more done, that I just have to do the captions, and then, I think, there will be ... *thinks* ... 2 or 3 after that.

I'M SO CLOSE! AND I'M SUCH A PROCRASTINATOR!

Awww, grrrrr, I hate to see you even have a 'most underappreciated' category. I'm prolly one of the people who didn't comment on it, so I'm telling you now, I LIEK DAT PIC!!! I'm sure Eey will make sure it reproduces it's fed and watered. AND HEY, I was in one fuckin' fext this year, and guess what? No comment from my recipient....

I can't really pick a fav, coz I have a hard on for the pointillism, and the Snape/Hagrid is so totes awesome, but I do like that Snarry, and the 'Swedish' Trek one is awfully purdy too (I think my lack of fervor for teh Trek is coz I still ain't seen the movie.)

You did have a good year; I'm looking forward to seeing what you did as anon. AND FINISH THE BOG PLZ!

From: [identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com
Oh, I got lots of lovely comments on my 'Sukov' pic, just none from the recipient. *kicks them* And yes, Eey squeed and was justly thrilled, so she made up for any cosmic slights I may have felt. :D

What the fuck is with the bad recipient thing? I posted about it, and LOTS of people have had the same problem. THIS MUST BE STOPPED!

And yes, my only New Year's resolution is to lose 25 lbs finish the BoG.

It's actually quite close to being done, so therefore, I must drag it out even longer. *sigh*

AND GO SEE THE FUCKIN' MOVIE ALREADY! Those boys are so eff'n shiny, you'll go blind, and then thank them for it!

I'll have to rent it now. I've wanted to see it ever since it came out, but you know.... We are going to see Sherlock Holmes tomorrow, but I'm sort of picky when it comes to Watson and Holmes, and Downey ain't no Holmes, period.

25 pounds? Are you nuts? Your ass will end up looking like mine, as in 'non-existent'! Nuttin' for Lance to grab onto!

I am SO freaking jealous of Quincey! I dressed up as Gene Simmons for Halloween my last year of high school, but am totally not artistically-inclined enough to have made a costume. So I just painted my face (and those oil-based paints itched like a bitch after a while!), wore all black, put my hair in a mohawk because it wasn't long enough for anything else, and carried around a play-guitar. Then I did the mohawk at school the next day because I didn't want to wash out all the gel and shit. It was epic.

Hee! Quincey is such a cos-player in training!

He also asked Santa for an Ace Frehley costume for xmas, so most of our Christmas morning photos feature KISS :D

and yeah, I bought some waterbased paints.

I made the mistake last year of letting him put tattoos on his face, and they DIDN'T WASH OFF FOR OVER A WEEK!
