Yay, Yultart is done! Wow, that was a metric fuck-ton of art, over a month's time, and according to the mods, we had a 99% submission rate. How amazing is that?

Anyhoo, I did Kirk/Bones for [livejournal.com profile] scatter_muse who requested them in a Myst-like setting.

Click on it to get extreme peen details.

I really struggled with this pic, since it's 90% background, and I don't ROLL THAT WAY. Not to mention it's watercolours, which I'm still pretty damn new at. You have to 'mask off' the areas that you don't want to get paint on, for each layer that you paint, so this had ... six or seven different masking layers. My poor brain! it was hard to figure out what to paint first, and what needed masking first.

I like to draw big, to get lots of detail, so I went out and bought an 18"x24" watercolour pad, just for this. HUGE MOFO IS HUGE! Two feet across and one and a half feet high!!

two feet! This must have taken forever. I bow down to you for taking on this tricky medium.

*clickies for details*

Mmmm. I loves the dimpled bottoms.

Wow, very, very cool background! And yay for battle of the peens. :D I appreciate the butt sculpting shading very much, too. Thanks for sharing this here, I missed it in the original exchange somehow. :o)

You know, I wonder if I would enjoy shopping for art supplies if I went with someone who really loved it? I saw this when it posted and was amazed at the background. I admit that the peen did get its share of admiration *cough*, but the background is *awesome*. I really love how you keep doing so many different, new things.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun doing this, but I was kind of stressed too, because it was for an exchange. Why oh why do I pretty much always take on some type of new media when it's an exchange? durrr

And yes, butt dimples ftw!

Oh god, there were SO MANY FESTS happening, I missed some of my own art on the too! (I totally forgot to check Insane journal!)

This one posted on the first, or second day. I think .

Oh God, I'd be bored out of my tree if I didn't try new things. I love pencils, but it's the SAME TECHNIQUE pretty much every time. And it's painstakingly slow going. Not that watercolours are fast, but it engages a totally different part of the brain. (assuming I have one, of course)

I don't think you'd like shopping with me. Or maybe you would. I get all gooey and moony and dreamy about different pens, and brushes and papers and stuff. I just wander around fondling the merchandise. ;p

*g* So now I'm wondering, what exactly are the real-life dimensions on the peen?

Also, are they wearing their boots still, or black socks? Have they gone old-man on me?!

I love this. SO MUCH! It's just awesome. I want to call it Captain Kirk and the planet of the phallic objects...

Ahaha! Well actually ... I just so happen to have a ruler RIGHT HERE!

The men stand around 10 inches tall, and would be another inch or so, but I ran out of room to finish their feet.

Those a boots ,btw, NOT BLACK SOCKS! If I was going 'old man' I totes would have drawn the sock garters, you know that!

Kirk measures in at exactly one inch, and Bones is a bit longer at 1.2 inches. THAT'S WHY THEY CALL HIM BONES!

Let's call it PLANET PHALLAXIA, SHALL WE?
From: [identity profile] eeyore9990.livejournal.com
*is extrapolating*

Okay, so Kirk's peen is about 1/10th of his height. If he's 6' (72 inches) tall, that's, umm... what? 7.2" give or take? And then Bones would be around the same height and then we take the... hmm. This requires thought. And math.

If his is 1.2 to 10 that's 12% of his body height. 12% of 72 inches is... 8.64 inches. Holy shit! GO BONES!

Heh, okay.

And yes, I should have considered the garters. I will never doubt you again!
From: [identity profile] eeyore9990.livejournal.com
Ahh, shit. I forgot about the extra inch for feet. So we'll just round down and give Kirk a 7" tallywhacker and Bones gets 8.5, k? :P
From: [identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com
Man, I wouldnt' have slept through highschool math if it had been this fun!

Let's just round up and say they both have 10" cocks, okay? ;p

Well, for style and creativity, the judges always award a 10...

Ahaha, well, for it not being your thing, the background is great -- to give you an Idea, I didn't even notice the peen at first! (and for me that's rare!)
Naturally the figure's are awesome (stop making me like trek pairings), but I love that you've made the atmosphere such a big part of it. Though I can't imagine working on a pad that large - in watercolor no less. The thought of all those masking layer's and working with an unwieldy drawing pad makes me shudder.

I totally thought this was you when I was going through them and I'm glad I wasn't way off. ;) I don't remember if I commented on it at Yuleart or not, but I must say I love this. The surreal aspect of the background combined with them with those two lovely men is awesome. I'm never going to be able to read "dueling" the same again. ;)

And wow, the size is just crazy. For being new at it, I think you did amazingly well. I wouldn't have guessed it was watercolor from the richness of the colors. Normally when I think of watercolors I think of relatively bland or faded colors without the depth these have. So you must be doing some thing right. ;)

Omg, I was just scrolls past the comments, and saw this and totally cracked up.

This thread is awesome!

That is wonderful - I'm really impressed with the wonderful details and the light - watercolor is challenging, and you pulled this off beautifully. :)
also, holy cow that pose is hot.
