Here's the reversebang art, but now in colour.

I wanted to go really subtle, sort of like a colour wash on an old black and white photo. I don't think I quite achieved that, but meh ... the colours in Trek are just so kitchy and vibrant (and I needed the practice) that I just couldn't resist.

Gyah, how on earth did you improve on perfection? I looooooooove the swaying movements of your pencils so so much, the way you use the background to pull to focus towards Spock and Kirk. I love Kirk's flaily legs and the detail of Spock CLUTCHING ONTO HIS SLEEVE TO KEEP HIM BALANCED OH SO MUCH JOY THIS BRINGS ME.

I put this up on ConceptArt's critique forum, and they sorta ripped it to shreds. All helpful, concrit, mind, but it still hurts when someone slaps your baby! ;D

They also gave me some rockin' links to really well done inking, so I'll have to give those styles a try.

OUCH. I've never been brave enough to post my art there, because I know it would be torn to pieces. For good reason, lol but I'm jsut like you - sometimes it's hard when it's your bebe!! XD

Ya know, even just looking at the comments on other peoples art is really helpful. then, when I'm looking at a pic that *I* might want to post there, I can pretty much tell what they're going to say.

Not to mention, I've never (or at least rarely) seen them get wanky. They did some pretty good hearted ribbing of some Snarry that I posted, but had great things to say about how to improve as well.

Hmm, swore I commented on this. I really this this, particularly the background. And I think the colors are great. Any brighter and they would have been too in your face. And poor Jim always getting hurt. At least Spock is always there to rescue him. ;)

Well. My first comment was going to be on the 'organic' nature of the background. Then I read the other comments.

So, what would Dr. Freud say? Lalala Spock is carrying a flailing Jim AWAY from all the femaleness of the cave. I love this so much!

Beautiful artwork. The subtle coloring is gorgeous, and gives the piece a dream-like quality.
