Waking me up (yes, hello time zones not the same?) to tell me what a horrible job I'm doing as a mother is not helpful.

Trying to convince me that my son's emotional problems stem from HAVING LONG HAIR WTF? is not likely, nor probable.

Whining about WHAT A HARDSHIP IT WAS to have my son and husband as guests for ONE NIGHT does not make me feel sorry for you.

I am willing to admit that he has problems. We have consulted his doctor, and we have an appointment with a child behavioural therapist. If SHE thinks all of his problems stem from having long hair, then yes, we will cut it.

BTW: Calling him your granddaughter? Probably not helpful either. And completely denying it? Also not helpful.

Also BTW: The irony of YOU giving ME parenting advice? Totally not lost on me. Rest assured, despite all of the mistakes I make as a parent, being deliberately mean to my children will not be one of them.

Also also BTW: The fact that I didn't mention your drunk, negative bitch of a girlfriend during our conversation proves without a doubt that I am a much better person than you. Because HOMFG I wanted to throw that in your face SO BADLY! I could literally TASTE how good it would feel to shove that down your throat.

Your kids sound happy and healthy to me. He should be proud of that fact. And long hair on boys? Who the fuck cares, seriously, as long as they're happy with it.

Yeah, my dad made is seem like *I* was forcing my kids to grow their hair long. WTF? Because I ENJOY brushing out tangles?

We also had to cover the whole "Dad, long hair won't make him gay, but if he IS gay, I'm cool with that."

I'll tell you, if either of my kids DOES end up queer, IT WILL BE COMPLETELY MY FAULT. *g*

I will agree sagely, and then tell him THAT I DID IT ON PURPOSE JUST TO SPITE HIM. He will believe that too. *eyeroll*

Wow, that sucks! I don't know what problems you are having with your son, but from the little I've read of your posts you sound like a great mom. Let's face it, a 5 year old is going to act like a 5 year old. I feel your family pain. My husband has an older sister; she and her son are all the family he has left. He's more perceptive than I am and pretty much cut her out of his life well before I did. I tried to keep a relationship going with her for the sake of my two daughters, but when she told me that my kid who was 8 at the time was the daughter of the devil and that she was evil I had enough. Yeah, I love how someone who's only child is a drug addict in his 30's who still lives at home with Mommy who gives him money to buy drugs is a parenting expert. Hang in there, your son will be fine; he's got great parents who love him.

Thank you! (yeah, my hubby is better at percieving people too. I wonder if it's a guy thing)

My son IS having some difficulties right now. He's got a lot of anxiety when it comes to change. We try to deal with it, and not blow it out of proportion.

But needless to say, travelling is hard, and my dad INSISTED that they stay at his house for one night (they were at my moms for a few nights before that) so yeah, we WARNED you that he is already stressed.

Regardless, my dad is an ass. End of story. It really pissed me off though ... grrrr
