So, I've had 20 pics forcibly deleted today for VIOLATION POLICY OF UNDERAGED NUDITY.

Now, I am the first person to admit that I'm a raving pervert and often draw things that are *cough* not acceptable in mainstream society. But really? REALLY?

I dont think DA is discriminating in their removals....the slash is apparently getting hit after DA cleaned out Sempra's and other artists SS-HG hot pics. It's just that there is more slash art. There was a recent wave or SS/HG removals over the last month or so. Someone is running around bitching about fan art. OR I suspect DA is getting ready to sell to someone. Regardless, it sucks, but when stuff like this happens it is always related to a lawyer or moola. Trust me, there is a lawyer and moola involved someplace.

That's the reason. If they are deleting Snarry, it's because they don't understand the concept of aging up characters who start out underage. This has happened before, here on LJ, as you and everyone else remembers.

Certainly they understand it, since it's in their (dumb) policies that you can't do it, it doesn't count, characters are considered to be the age(s) they are in their source material: "Attempts to portray a fictional underage or child character as an "adult" in order to avoid these restrictions will not be allowed under any circumstances."

In the cases of Harry and Hermione, even though we see them as thirty-somethings in the epilogue, "classified as underage or not based upon the youngest portrayal as well as their average age over the series" seems to be what they're going with.

I know there are people who try to hide behind "uhhh, sure she's 18, lol *wink*" but this BS is just silly.

Dunno--I saw the long bizarre exchange between an anti-Snarry young woman who got her friends to come and make nasty comments on Tripper's art AND try to report her (they gave me the impression that the fundamental issue was slash, even if it wasn't particularly graphic, but also that the particular pairing squicked them and they had an axe to grind against Tripper for daring to draw it!)

Moola moves lots of things -- but so does asshattery and trolls (at least in the short term).

Srsly, I think someone must be on a Snarry/slash vendetta, or as someone mentioned, their brain cells can't make the leap to adult characters. I guess there aren't that many other art archives that are as comprehensive a dA, where you can put everything, which is why I've always liked it.
