Just a reminder that I'm auctioning off a comission to help with [livejournal.com profile] loveforlily. Poor kitty had to go throught what Milky Wave was lucky enough to avoid. Amputation. She's doing well without her leg, and seems to have lucked into a wonderful home.

Bid here if you like kittehs! http://tripperfunster.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=48#/d3l50us
Also check out the other awesome stuff!

Movie reviews:
Whilst on the vacay last week, the kids wanted some down time, so we bought a couple of $5 movies from the discard bin at Wal-mart. (Plus a couple of others that I saw in the last few weeks.)

The Hulk (the newish one?) With Edward Norton.
Oh God It Sucked! Me and Harrison are gearing up for the upcoming Avengers slashfest movie, so we're trying to catch up on all the movies. Give this one a pass. The beginning was odd, and vague. I was actually quite interested to see how he became the Hulk, and they just sort of brushed over it during the opening credits. Not to mention how STOOPID and over the top the entire thing was. Did I mention it sucked? Exept Liv Tyler. Man, I would HIT THAT HARD!!

Gremlins
I am quite sure that I was the only person who was alive in the 80's (90s?) that didn't see this movie. Now I know why. Steven Speilberg you should be ashamed of yourself. It was almost like halfway through the movie he just gave up and let Bobcat Goldthwait write and direct it.

Tremours 2 and 3
They really should have stopped at one. 'nuff said. I really liked the first one.

Ace Ventura, When Nature Calls
I never saw the first one (and I assume it's pretty much the same) but HOLY FUCK I LAUGHED MY 12 YEAR OLD ASS OFF! For reals. As if I needed any proof that I am immature, this really sealed it for me. My kids now think that Jim Carey is the FUNNIEST MAN ALIVE. I am inclined to agree. He's not hard on the eyes, either.

Just to further prove how pre-pubescent I am, me and the kids were doing 'alliterations' in the car the other day. Someone would call out a letter and we'd all have to make up a sentence. (yanno, like, Betty's brown beagle barfed on her bed...)

I got 'D' and to the absolute delight and admiration of my children came up with: Darling Donald dipped his ding-a-ling in 'dickle-sauce.'

I now rival Jim Carey as the funniest person in the world. :D And no, I have no idea what dickle-sauce is, nor do I want to find out.

! I actually like gremlins.
Of course, I was probably 10 when I saw it, so I was pretty easily entertained by how cute gizmo is.

But - tremors! Love tremors.

I say you beat jim c. hands down for funniest person.

Oh God, Gizmo was totally cute! And he really holds up, even 10bazilliony years later. In fact, he'd probably be annoying cg now. I much prefer the puppet effects of yore.

It was just ... once they became 'bad', they were ... ridiculous! They were just campy caracatures of old movies. It honestly was embarassing to watch.

Yes, Tremours is a great movie, and really holds up well too. Tremours two wasn't horrible, but three was just crap. I haven't seen 4 yet, but we bought the box set at Walmart. :D

that's true, the 'bad' gremlins are absurd.

you'll have to tell me how tremours four is - I think that's the only one I haven't seen : )
<3 bad sci-fi films.

Darling Donald dipped his ding-a-ling in 'dickle-sauce.'

...I think I read a fic like that once...

But it was probably "Draco" rather than "Donald". Hmm, I bet he could tell you what dickle-sauce is.

Yeah, I have a vague idea what 'dickle-sauce' might be too. And I'm POSITIVE I read a fic like that. ;)

I've never seen Gremlins either, if it helps. Also I pretty much agree about Jim Carrey although he gets on my nerves at times. I happen to think he could be a hell of a good straight actor if anybody ever gave him the right stuff to do; he could definitely play Shakespeare.

Oh man, I find Jim Carey DREADFULLY annoying, but he was hilarious in this flick. I saw him in ... crap I forget the name of the film, but it was a serious one, where he loses his memory and is mistaken for a missing soldier? He was really good in it. (not good enough to remember the name, obviously).

Gremilns? Don't bother. It was ghastly.

I am concerned that your next movie reviews might be Cocoon and The Last Action Hero. :P

I'm not a huge Jim Carey fan, but I do love me some Ace Ventura. You just HAVE to like him. And potty jokes bring out the 12 year old in everyone, I swear.

Funny you should watch Gremlins. My sister and I decided to watch it the other day, and I turn it on, there's that "Rock N Roll" jam at the beginning... my sister sang it. Word. For. Word. I'm related to a HUGE NERD. She admitted watching it every day after school. (She's older than I am, significantly.) I guess I can't fault her, because I once watched Terminator 2 every day after school for about 2 months. I can't imagine that being healthy for a 9 year old. :D

And agreed. Tremors 2 & 3? NOT as good as the original. Didn't uh... er.. the dad from Family Ties, isn't he in all the sequels??

Ha! I watched 'Thunderdome' about a kazillion times one year. I was on the road with a band, and we had a VCR and TWO VIDEO TAPES. :D Thunderdome and The Breakfast Club. MMMMMMMmel Gibson before he went batshit. :D

As for my movie reviews, YES! You are not far off! We DID watch The Twilight Zone not long ago, and I"m pretty sure one of the 'segments' was the impetus for Cocoon!

Generally the movies I watch are based on my kid's choices. I think Thor will be next. (as it's part of the upcoming avengers thang) We also got Scrooged!. So far it is holding up better than I remember.

And yes, Tremours is great! Part two isn't bad, but three just sucked cock. (and not in the good way) I haven't seen Four yet, but Imma go out on a limb and guess that it sucks too. Yeah, Family Ties Dad is in the first three, anyway. He's so great in them!

Heh, I can't remember Gremlins, which means I must have watched it only once, so that must mean that I thought it sucked. It was unheard of back then to only watch a movie once... you know, when we only had like 12 to choose from. :))

Ahhhhh, Ace Ventura! It's srsly one of the best bits about my job, getting to introduce kids to the joy of talking out of your ass--literally.

But you've just given me a HUGE idea, wouldn't Jim Carrey be PERFECT if they ever do a live action Phineas and Ferb as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz??? *sigh*

Ahaha! Oh God yes! He would truly be a perfect Doof! :D

I saw the First Ace Ventura tonight, and I think the second one is funnier.

And yes, I can barely fathom it, but I used to watch movies over and over and over and over. And not even GOOD movies! :D (Okay, I watched Megamind an unhealthy amount of times... BUT IT WAS ART RESEARCH, OKAY???)
