sigh* In typical 'country' fashion, my neighbours (no, not the usual shitty neighbours) but different ones, got themselves a couple of kittens. Except, of course, their kids have allergies, so these cats get to live outside.

I am honestly not sure WHY you'd want a pet (aside from a horse) that lives outside. Of course, like every other animal in a 50 mile radius, these cats have managed to make their way to my house. They're just little kitties, maybe 12 weeks old? And it's COLD outside. The first time they ended up here, it was quite a cold snap. I picked them both up and walked them back across the road. I knocked on the door, but nobody was home. Also, the kittens had food and water dishes, but they were both empty. So I went back home, got food and water for them, put them in their little dog type house and left.

They were both back within two hours. The people still weren't home (and were due to have a baby right around this time) so I set up a big kennel with food, water and a litter box and kept them inside my house until I could get ahold of the neighbours. THREE DAYS LATER I managed to catch them at home and give them their cats back. (and no, they had not had the baby yet...I have no idea where they'd been.)

Long story short, one of the kittens keeps coming back here, so I said screw it, set up a little warm spot for him in our mini barn, gave him some food and water and now he's mine. I mean, he's WELCOME to go back across the road any time he wants, he's got free run, but at least i don't stay up at night worrying that he's freezing/starving to death. I try to not think about the other kitten.

These people have gone through two dogs and twice as many cats since they moved in. *shakes head*
They had named him Tow-mater (from the Cars movie), but I've taken to calling him Tomato. Just because it's a ridiculous name for an animal. I'm not generally a fan of ginger kittens. The other one is a beautiful calico, but as they say, you don't choose them, they choose you.

In typical cat fashion, he refused to sit still for a shot, so I stuck him on my shoulder and took it 'facebook' style.

Milky Wave in all his chubby glory.

Willow, who NEVER has her eyes open for photos. :D

Okay, for serious. I would pay BIG MONEY for these costumes. The only question is: How do I get hubby to comply? :D (it's not gay if one of them is a platypus, right? RIGHT????

Pffft! :D

Awe! How cute they are! Hugs tripper for being caring.

How stupid can people be? If they get another cat with kids with allergies tell them your friend on the net says they are idiots and need their heads examined. Secondly, they really really really really need to read up on cat care. Obviously they are clueless, possess no common sense, and probably should not have procreated IMHO.

As I have found at our store, there is no talking sense into stupid assholes. Thank god there are people willing to clean up their messes for them.

stoopid people - glad you have Tomato on your ranch. He looks like a good hugger.

and white wave! isnt that the one who was so ill?? he looks terrific!

that platy costume can't be that hard, nor the other guy - except for the rubbery bits. talk to some costumers!

Yes, that white guy is the one who almost lost his leg. He doesn't even walk with a limp anymore, although nobody would refer to him as 'graceful' either. ;)

yes, it's those rubbery bits that confound me. *loves a challenge*

Ginger kitties especially seem to know a sucker SUCKER when they see one, so I am unsurprised he has made his way to you. Likely only because it was closer than my house.

OMG! Is that Milky Way?! What are you feeding that cat and have you counted children lately just in case?

As for you neighbors, well, I'll just keep my opinion to myself and will think good thoughts for their poor child if this is an example of their care-giving skills.

They ALL make their way to me. :D

Yes, we still have two kids, but we've had a few chickens go missing. I had thought it might be a fox, but now that you mention it .....

Man, either make it out of foam or hire a furry to make it for you. Those are not mass-produced.

You mean Milky MEGA Wave? Yer cat is fat!

Honestly, people like these folks plan to have you take care of their pets. This I know; I have five cats that were ALL someone else's. These cats (yours and mine) are so lucky they ended up with US.

Yes, that is Milky Wave. His goal is to become as big as the actual galaxy. ;)

Yes, when Milky arrived, my hubby took one look at him and said; "dude! You have NO IDEA how lucky you are that SHE found you." :D

SO CUTE. Omg kitties ;_; They are all so pretty.

Those lousy neighbors though :/ I don't care if they are nice otherwise, that's just thoughtless and cruel to such young animals.

What you can't just tempt the husband with sex?

Date: 2012-01-19 05:44 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com
I TRIED to temp him with sex when we were dressed up as Jimmy/Chazz. Flat out offered him ANY DAMN THING HE WANTED.

Sadly, it wasn't me in a Jimmy wig. (although the teeth kind of turned him on.) :D

I mean, he'd do it if I BEGGED, but I like to think I"m not that pathetic. I AM that pathetic, but I like to think I'm not.

And you know what orange kitty plus calico kitty equals? A whole lot more kittys in about 4-5 months!
Why are people so stupid?
(You should 'accidentally' take them to be spayed/neutered, the owners will never notice)

Hee! I have already fixed over six cats in the area. (six that don't belong to me, that is.) I also dewormed both these kittens and gave them their first shots.

SUPERSEEKRIT NINJA NEUTERER!

Omg, I've never seen the show but even I want one of those FRIGGIN costumes! I'd want to be the platypus, of course. Obviously the cooler costume choice.

Don't be hatin on the gingers. Gingers is full of love. Love for all.

You're gonna love your ginger kitteh. I already know.

Oh, I'll love him, but meh, not my colour. I had a tortie persian for years, also a colour I don't like. ;)

That's okay, the pretty kitties can go to other people, I love them for what's inside.

Yes, of course I'd be the platypus. That way i can still have sex with the evil scientist.

You really should watch the show. So funny! Your little one is still a few years away from that though. :D

Some people should not be able to own animals. Really makes me angry.

Wow. Tomato looks huge. The size of his paws *boggles*

Milky Wave looks amazing. All fluffy and white and healed. How is he going seizure wise?

Willow is also gorgeous.

Date: 2012-01-19 05:50 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com
Thanks! Yes, Willow is a gorgeous kitty. Purebred Ragdoll cat, left behind in an apartment when the owners moved away. *kicks them*

Milky Wave is kicking ass. I slowly weaned him off the seizure meds and he hasn't had an episode for almost a year! I still have them, of course, incase it starts again, but he's been great, and is much more ... lucid? when not on them.
