Snow Picspam

Well, it's not like Denver here, with its 200 feet of snow, but we woke up to a good dump the other day and I actually took photos! *is teh lazy*

This was the view out our front door. We live in the country, so we have a pretty big yard.

Here's the side yard. Pretty or what??

Here's our barn, where the mini horses and goats and chickens and pig live, but I had just fed them (hence the footprints there), so they're all inside pigging out. ETA: if you want to see what they look like (and me and the kids) here's a link to an earlier post I did of them last summer) http://tripperfunster.livejournal.com/11476.html#cutid1

And finally, here's Spencer, with a little Santa beard. Yes, he actually looks like that. (freak) For anyone who's interested, he (and his sister Sarah, not pictured here) are Brussels Griffons. Crazy little smoosh-faced ragamuffins.

This is amazingly pretty. Blue and white and everything between. Such peaceful looking landscape. Spencer rulez! He looks very curious :)

thanks! It really is beautiful here! It's often VEEERRY cold here (minus 40 C) but this winter has been quite mild (so far), so I really can't complain.

[identity profile] florence-craye.livejournal.com 2007-01-05 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooh... so pretty! It's about 60 degrees here today and kind of rainy. lol Sometimes I wish it would snow that much! Spencer and his frosty bear is so cute!

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-05 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
heh, yeah, I knew what you meant! I don't mind the snow, it's the cold I hate! ;)

[identity profile] joanwilder.livejournal.com 2007-01-05 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, you really live out in the boonies, don't you? It's gorgeous--do you have to shovel any of that? Do you have a sleigh? Ooo, sleigh-sex, now there's a thought....hey! That's not what you were doing New Year's Eve, was it? *eyes Tripp jealously* Your Griffon is so cute.

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-05 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Boonies? Sort of. We're actually only about a 10 minute drive from the city, so it's not too bad here, and a LOT quieter than the city.

No, we don't have a sleigh. I'd like to get one, because the mini horses would ROCK pulling it, but they cost like, $1000, so maybe if I save up!

And no, we were having old fashioned bed-sex. Well, I suppose it wasn't terribly old fashioned, if you catch my drift! ;)

Yes, spencer is teh cute! Sarah's a sweetie too.

What great pictures!

I've never actually seen real snow, and I'm a little envious that it's right outside your front door!

The other photos of you and the children and animals are lovely too. What a contrast between then and now, weather wise.

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-05 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, we really get to enjoy all four seasons here, although I would cry if the winter one was a tad shorter! Next fall, when all the leaves turn yellow and red, I'll picspam again.

It's just gorgeous here in the summer, as long as the mosquitoes aren't too bad.

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-06 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
oops, I meant WOULDN'T cry. WOULDN'T!! One month would be more than plenty!!

[identity profile] orange-bastard.livejournal.com 2007-01-05 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh so beautful there! We're getting more snow...sigh.

SPENCER, THE CUTEST DOG IN THE WORLD!!!!

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-05 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
More snow?? What did you guys do to deserve this??? :)

Yes, Spencer's pretty cute. Oddly enough, he's twice the size of his sister. (and she's about twice as smart as him).

Oh well, they're lots of fun! We've got cats too. I should post some pics of them too.

[identity profile] kittehkat.livejournal.com 2007-01-06 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, it's all so, so gorgeous! I want to live on a farm! XD And I click to see the animals, and they're all so cute! And your kids! Eee! What an adorable family, animals and humans together!

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-06 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yup! sometimes I feel like the luckiest woman in the world. And then, you know, the kids act like assholes, one of the horses gets sick, it's minus 40 for two weeks in a row and I have to work extra shifts to cover people who've called in sick, and I think ...yeah, damnit, I'm STILL pretty lucky! :D

I grew up in a pretty big city (toronto) so country life is still pretty novel for me.

:O I LOVE BURSSELS GRIFFONS! My boyfriend's got a shorthaired one named wald and he's absolutely the most adorable thing ever. *squee* they're just tooooo cute. I've never seen a longhaird one and Spencer has just taken a part of my heart with his cute little face.

(Anonymous) 2007-01-08 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! YEs, I love Griffons too! The smooth coated ones are pretty funny looking themselves! I actually thought that my other Griffon was a smooth coat, when she was still a little puppy, (the parents were one smooth, one rough) but she grew a little beard too!

I'd like to breed her, but I don't have a male. (well, a male that isn't her brother...)

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
*sigh* I fail at technology...that was me replying before.

[identity profile] megganisms.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
haha, i do that allll the time. According to my boyfriend there're only about 50something brussels griffons in the US. >> so that ruins my plan on having a bunch. But I bet you could find a lovely male (or i could steal my boyfriend's dog and let you borrow him!) to breed with your girly. The fact that she has a little beard makes me giggle x3! My little dog (he's a lhasa opso or however it's spelled) has the funniest face. He's got a beard and these crazy eyebrows :D!

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, there's more than 50. Maybe 50 BREEDERS, but lots more than 50 dogs. I mean, there's at least 6 in the small Canadian city where I live, there must be more across the states.

Yes, Lhasas get some pretty cute eyebrows!

[identity profile] megganisms.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
haha, okay. I'm going to have to call him on that x3!

He does! He's a right bastard but he's got the craziest eyebrows ever.

[identity profile] aliciamasters.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I live in Michigan, and we used to have beautiful snow like this. I don't know where it's gone to this winter. *sigh*

I'm sure the auto industry being based here has nothing to do with the global warming effect. Nah.

Your home is beautiful, and your family is perfect. Even the four footed ones! I wish you every happiness this new year.

(Anonymous) 2007-01-08 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks hon! You're soo sweet! Is Michigan near Buffalo? I used to live in Toronto, and as much as we would get snow there, across the lake in Buffalo they'd get TONS!

Global warming???? Meh, just a myth! ;)

I hope the new year is very good to you and your family too!

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Obviously, that was me, not some stranger replying to your comment. ...or was it???? *evil laughter*

[identity profile] accioslash.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
*Sigh* There's been no snow here at all so far this winter, just lots of rain. I want to dive through the TV and strangle the weatherpeople who always say, "Wow, good thing that was rain instead of snow or we'd have 12 inches!" Don't these people know that 12 inches is never a bad thing?!

And thanks for posting the photos. But since I've started stalking you I have plenty of my own. You really need to replace that ratty old bathrobe.

Just kidding. Or am I? Mwhahahahaha

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
hmmm...I have some bad news for you! I think you've been spying on my white-trash neighbours, because I don't wear a bathrobe! I'm more the huge flannel pyjama top kind of gal. (yeah, TMI, I know!)
:D

[identity profile] accioslash.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you've been spying on my white-trash neighbours, because I don't wear a bathrobe! I'm more the huge flannel pyjama top kind of gal.

It's probably a good thing that you added that last part or else you'd likely have all sorts of weirdo stalkers out in the wilds of Canada.

Sadly my laziness makes me a really crappy stalker. My stalkee would have to be willing to hang out around my house and be satisfied with one or two comments a day in between me going to the fridge to get more soda and reading endless amounts of porn. Alas, some people just don't have the proper motivation to be a truly dedicated stalker. *hangs head in shame then goes back to reading porn*

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, stalking seems a tad more labour intensive than I'm willing to commit to right now! :D
