Thanks! I disagree. There are about 100 things wrong with it. Eyes too close together, chin too long, mouth is out of alignment with the face.

I'm actually drawing it over right now, and IT LOOKS THE SAME! :D Perhaps I need glasses. ... or a glass of something!

I can't even begin to imagine how long it took you, but I think you got a very good result. I don't see the problems you mention; the creator usually sees those best. Love that right eyebrow!

Actually, it didn't take that long, just a few hours. And really, a few hours spend looking at RDJ's face, is not time wasted, even if the result is sub par.

All of his features are out of whack here. I find him hard to draw at the best of times, and the pre-sketching limitations of this medium are killing me. It is saved by the cool textures though. TEXTURES FTW!

Thanks! He has sort of an odd face. And by that, I think I mean, so completely normal (aside from his little ski nose) that he's really hard (for me) to capture. I actually had to look at quite a few ref shots of him, because even HE doesn't look like himself half the time.

Definitely a downside to the scratchboard as a medium, but speaking as someone who's used them I still say that's pretty impressive. ::is awful at drawing when erasing is not an option::

Thanks hon. I think your eyes are just fooled by the really cool texture of the medium. It does kind of look cool, even when the overall pic is crap. :D

I'm doing a re-draw of him right now, and honestly, it isn't looking much better, even though I'm using a RULER to measure how far apart the eyes should be, how long the chin is, etc.

I usually just kind of wing it, but with scratchboard, there's no erasing.

On the excellent side of things, I didn't look at the header and I instantly knew who it was. :D

It feels like some of the features slid a little out of place to me. Right proportions and stuff, but just a smidge to the left/right. As usual though, your value range of lights to darks is AWESOME. Love love love the textures.

Thanks! And yeah, his features kind of melted in a not good way. Mouth is too over to one side, eyes too close together and the entire head is stretched out too long.

I'm drawing a do-over, and using a ruler on the ref pic to make sure things stay where they belong. ;)
