RIP Milky Wave

Despite our best efforts, we just couldn't figure out what was wrong, and he passed away last night. The vet even did an autopsy today, and aside from knowing that he died of liver failure (due to lack of eating) she couldn't figure out why he'd stopped eating.
I'd been giving him fluids and even force feeding him, but it wasn't addressing the (unknown) underlying problem. He didn't seem to be in pain, and died quite peacefully. I really feel that every moment we'd had with him was pretty much on 'borrowed time', and we were grateful for all of it.

He'd cheated death more than once in the two years we'd had him. Frostbite, seizures, drowning and getting lost for two days in our heating ducts. God only knows how many close calls he'd had before we found him!

Mr. Moo, you will be sorely missed.

I'm so sorry he's gone. I'm also very glad that he had such a loving family. There's not really anything I can say to make you feel better, except I love that pic because it looks like serious harm will come to anyone that touches his apple.

Thanks. Yeah, I took that picture for a 'fruit, cat, clock' challenge over on deviantArt. It wasn't until later that I realized that it was only for stock photo elements that were supposed to be stuck together.

I'm so sorry, bb. It's always aweful to lose a pet, but to not even know why must be even harder. No matter what, your love and support gave him an extra two years he wouldn't have had otherwise. Sending you love and warm fuzzies (glomps).

I'm so sorry, Trip. I was hoping he'd pull through. Such a sweetie, and after such a horrible experience. But you and your family were fantastic, and at the very least he got to be loved and spoiled for two years. He looks beautiful, contented, and completely comfortable in all of his post-trauma pics. He received the love and care he deserved, even if his life wasn't that long.

I am so sorry to hear about Milky Wave. He was so beautiful. Thank you for being so kind and making the last years of his life happy. I always think you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat animals. Sorry for your loss.
