Ha! AWESOME! So awesome THOR! I love this. I love the choices you made about their appearance, too. I didn't know you were doing this until the third installment and I can't figure out how I missed the first two, but I am HAPPY!
Thank you! I posted the first two pretty close together, so they may have just slipped by. Oddly enough, this started out as a pretty emo/angsty fic in my head, but is ending up all crack in the comic. I'm sure it will take a turn for the serious at some point, but for whatever reason, NOT YET!
And I'm so glad you like the way they look. I really wanted to draw them in the Marvel style, but I just don't have the art-chops to do that yet. At least, not without struggling, and I didn't want this to be a chore. With 8 to 10 panels per page, I needed them simple enough to draw multiple times, but 'real' enough to convey emotion.
I'm very happy you didn't draw them in the Marvel style.
Have you ever read Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud? He has a lot to say about how people relate to the simple faces in comics. I love that book. It explains beautifully why comics in very different art styles work the way they do. (And this WORKS.)
Yes I have! (years ago.) I went to look for my copy after seeing this comment, and I can't find it! *sob* I'm sure it's somewhere, but I am so bad a putting things back where they belong.
