GISHWHES 54 Elmo!

tripperfunsterElmo gone wrong. What would a Tickle-me-Elmo look like if he had a serious crystal meth problem?
If you google "the face of meth" you get a lot of 'before and after' pics, so I decided to go that route. I asked quite a few people if they had an Elmo doll I could borrow, and nobody did (or they did, but they couldn't find it), so I took a trip to the Salvation Army and picked one up for $6. Muuuch better than the $35 they were asking at Walmart!
I mostly used Crayola Model Magic on him, plus some water colour paints for the sores. ;) I'm glad he wasn't borrowed, because even after hubby removed the majority of the clay, he still looks ... worse for wear. We were going to donate him back to the Sally-Anne, but now it looks sort of like he has an acne problem. The kids are calling him "Teen Elmo" :D
As an aside, I've never seen the show Supernatural (where the kingpin of the scavenger hunt is the star) but when I googled 'mug shot' I saw one of the other actors holding the same intake sheet I gave Elmo. I guess they were undercover in a prison in one episode?? Anyhoo, I thought it would be a nice touch to put some Supernatural in my entry.

Date: 2012-11-23 06:13 am (UTC)Though sometimes it's great to see some of the old timers. Like when they ran into Vicki Lawrence. I grew up watching the Carol Burnett show, and I used to love watching Ms. Lawrence. "Mama" was so funny to me as a kid.
Now if I watch "Mama" I'm struck by how sad it really is. Sort of like "Married With Children" and the George Lopez show. I'm really laughing at child mistreatment.
BTW, liked your meth-addict Elmo.
