Dreams Are In Your Sleep

So ... last night I was at an audition for a coffee commercial. But it wasn't a REGULAR acting type audition, it was a DANCING audition. I had recieved the tape I was supposed to dance to, and had been instructed as to the dance, but I couldn't REMEMBER any of the moves. (I guess dreams about missing highschool tests are too mundane for my brain.)

Anyhoo, WILL FERRELL was hosting the audition. Because yeah ... all auditions have a live audience and a host, AMIRITE?
The ground was made up of these paving stone type rocks, and for some reason, the were both slippery and grippy, almost like ice is when you're wearing skates, so I was sort of skating around, and then Will Ferrel was too, and we were sort of doing a silly Blades of Glory thing AND OMG WE WERE SO FUNNEH! The audience was laughing and having a good time.

So, my audition music starts, and since I can't remember the dance moves, I decided to SKATE it instead. Just .. making it up as I go along.

Disclaimer: I can skate in an A to B sort of fashion, and even go backwards and stuff, but nothing fancy or dancy or figureskating type stuff. I also cannot Bust A Move to save my life. I am completely at a loss as to why I would be trying out at a dance audition, any more than I would be trying out to be a heart surgeon or physics professor. I also have no idea why there would be DANCING IN A COFFEE COMMERCIAL.

I do not know if I landed the gig or not, but I remember being very nervous and thinking that I really had a chance.

It was pretty epic. I just find the whole 'dance' aspect hilarious. I do the 'white girl' dance as well as the next person, but an acutal DANCER I am most definitely not!

It wouldn't surprise me if that is where my brain got the idea from, but why any part of me would think that I could get a job dancing is just pure crack.

Ahhhhh that sounds quite entertaining. Thank you for sharing!!! I wish I had dreams like that rather than super realistic bad dreams about teaching (which I had to quit a month and a half ago) and drama between friends (which was SO real because it was based on stuff actually happening between them)...

I have lots of realistic dreams too, but they are generally painfully mundane. Like ... being at work, and working ... and then yanno, I wake up and go to work. ;)
