Ugh! Photoshop help please!

I have a psd file that I use as a mastersheet for the comic I'm making. It has everyone's skin tones, tony's shiny arc reactor and the comic panel frames all on different layes.

A couple of days ago I fat-fingered something and the file disappeared. I can still access it in photoshop, and 'open' it, except it doesn't show up. I can see it in the little history/actions window in the top right corner, but I can't get it to open on the actual page. *pulls out hair*

Any thoughts? I REALLY don't want to have to start some of this shit from scratch.

edit: Okay, I fixed the problem by opening it in a different ps (elements), changing the file slightly, then saving it under a different name. But I am still interested to hear wtf I did, and how it could be fixed. I'm using psCS3 btw.

You mean the document doesn't show up on the workplace despite being open? Maybe you've just minimised it and it's vanished somewhere off-screen? Have you tried rearranging your documents (window->document->cascade) or maybe fitting it on screen (view->fit on screen). My photoshop is ancient, so the names/locations of the actions might be different. Hope that helps.

The minimize button in my photoshop is broken somehow and every time I click it, the document gets so small, the only thing that remains visible of its window is the close button in the furthest lower corner somewhere :D A bit annoying, but fitting it on screen works every time. And if I somehow go to a different open document and can't click on the minimized one without closing it, it's possible to navigate different open documents with ctrl+tab. In case you ever have the problem again :)

I haven't got a clue what I did in the first place to break it, though...

If you're on a Mac, delete your preferences file for Photoshop. :) You can also try Preferences -> Interface -> Restore Default Workspaces. (I have CS6, so ymmv where that is).

That should work, but then again, it is Adobe...

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately it didn't work. It's possible the fault is not with photoshop but windows, which is messed up too. Tbh it's just easier to remember not to minimize stuff instead of trying to find out what's wrong ;)
