I'm suspicious of Loki when he starts giving warnings like, "It's going to hurt. A lot." I think he's more devious than making Steve give up his life. Makes it nice to provoke Steve into teeth gritting, fist clenching I can do this reaction though.

One of the saddest things is that I suspect Loki isn't going to learn very much from this. He could be SO much more effective as a trickster if he had a deeper understanding of how people work when it comes to love.

On the other hand, maybe it's better that he stays confounded.

Confused Loki is confused. Steve's face in the fourth panel is priceless. Also, it looks like he's returned to his pre-serum self since the end of the last strip... and swallowed by a vortex to boot! I have a feeling of timeline tampering here.

As everyone else I love Loki's confusion on all levels. Heh. Self-sacrifice is not a concept he's going to grasp easily - if ever.

Two things I love: Loki's honest 'why?' Funny but also sad, in that way that everything having to do with Loki is sad. And Steve's response of 'I love him.' It's endearing because he's so small and cute for the same reason.
