Pornnado!!

Okay, there's porn and a tornado, but sadly, they are two separate entities.

First off: Here was the view near my house today:




Of course, me and the kids had to jump in the car and get as close as possible to it, being the hardy Storm Chasers that we are. It never did touch the ground, but it was pretty damn spectacular to look at anyway! This was actually the second one. We chased the first one, and it sucked back into the clouds, only to shoot this one out right after.

And now porn!

Why, watercolours? Why? My obsessive need to blend colours does not go well with watercolours. I see such lovely, smeary, almost impressionistic art from so many people, and mine comes out like I'm using pencil crayons, except ... with much less control. Practice, practice, practice.

Nice shading on their faces. No peen on Steve but the other is there hanging down behind. That pleases. Makes it more real.

Tornadoes aren't unheard of here, but we don't often get the giant town-killing ones that you guys do. It was actually pretty damn spectacular to see!

I think your shading is excellent, actually, and will be more so the more you do it. Did you put on the black lines afterwards, once the picture was dry?

Thank you! Looking at it now, a few days later, it's better than I thought it was. And yes, will get even better with practice. It's just that water colours are HAAAAAARD. /whine

I very lightly inked the figures first, then painted them with liquid watercolour, which is sort of like little bottles of food colouring. I then painted the black on, and that was the most fun part! It really was like working with real ink, because it was a liquid black paint.
