The team had all sorts of ideas, mostly along the lines of wearing a hamburger costume whilst eating a hamburger, etc.
I was all :Naw. I got this!

Why is it, when a friend of mine goes to Britan, they think of ME when they see a can of spotted dick? How have I brought this upon myself??

I'll admit that the first time I saw the words 'spotted dick' in an HP book, I giggled like mad.

Then I had to go look it up. I figured it was something edible, it's just that in American English that doesn't quite translate well.

To be fair it also raises a far amount of amusement in British English now too.

When I was little, I went to a school where we had to call it "spotted donkey", because "dick" was considered too vulgar. So no, it's not just you.
