I must admit to asking customers if they'd robbed a bank when they pull out a large chunk of cash.

I don't really mind the people who are JOKING about the price being for all of them, it's the people who ACTUALLY THINK IT MIGHT BE SO that make me pull my hair out.

I am so sorry. I've used that last line. "There's no price tag, so that must mean it's free, right?"
It's a rather bad attempt to be cute and raise a smile from the salesperson. When I worked sales, I'd respond with, "oh if only that were the case, but it isn't."
