Does anyone else have 'deal breaking' songs, that when, if you're listening to the radio, you'll automatically turn the station?

For me, when I"m listening to classic rock, I just cannot stand to hear 'Another Brick in the Wall (II).' I'm not even sure why. It's not a bad song, but for some reason I DO NOT WANT. I think, maybe I've just heard it too much for one lifetime. ?

For newer stuff, I turn off 'Wrecking Ball', mostly because I find it to be a horrible ear worm. It's not a good or bad song, really, but I can't stop humming it even hours later and it drives me insane. I don't really have an opinion of Miley Cyrus. I don't really like her, and I think she's gone off the deep end a bit, but I also think she has the right to do whatever the hell she wants. I don't want to be all "OMG a woman showing her sexuality??? *gasp*" ON the other hand, I find her kind of creepy, but neither of those things have much to do with my 'deal breaker' feelings about her song. Mostly it's just way overplayed.

How 'bout you guys?

Anything by Uncle Kracker. Pretty much anything by Adele or Taylor Swift. Most country songs that are fast, loud, or invoke the "good ole boy" vibe. (I listen to a very specific type of country music, and that type is slower and more melancholy than most songs out there)

You mean … Uncle Kracker has more than one song?? *boggles*

Anything other than "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin. I just never glommed on to them, despite having been born and raised during the Classic Rock era. Any Beastie Boys. Plenty of other things I'm not remembering now. I only listen to oldies/classics/stuff from the 80s, so manage to miss most of the newer things I can't stand (rap, rap, rap, pop tarts, rap...).

I have never heard Wrecking Ball, don't know any Justin Bieber songs or any by Selina Gomez. I recently heard this awful song "Roar" by Katie Perry (another artist I have avoided so far)- If I'd actually listen to any of the regular channels than that song might make me turn off the radio. I listen to Klassik Radio which plays...welll classical music and BBC 2 doesn't overplay songs :shrugs:

He has that one stupid song about having an affair with a married woman (the origin of my hate), and then he's got another duet with Kenny Chesney. My hate for Uncle Kracker is such that I've never actually listened to the second song in full; I change the station as soon as I hear it.

Do you even need to ask? Anything ... I mean, anything by the Biebs. I can't deal with another playing of 'Another Brick in the Wall' either. And, yes, it's because I've heard it way too many times. And, yes, there's something less than appealing about Miley Cyrus. And, yes, I can't stop calling her Smiley Virus. *sigh*

Oh my god yes. I LOATHE that new song "Say Something", mostly because I was forced to listen to it on endless repeat for over an hour one day at work while my boss listened (and sang) to it over and over and over.

Also "Blurred Lines", because fuck you Robin Thicke.

On a sadder note, I have to immediately switch stations if I hear "Layla" by Eric Clapton because I will always break down crying, as it reminds me of a dear friend named Leyla who passed away.

I know I"ve heard at least one of his songs, but neither of those ring a bell. That's okay. I'm not dying to know. :D

I'm not a fan of much of their stuff, but I spent HOURS listening to Stairway to Heaven when I was a tween. :D

OH my! where do you live? You honestly can't turn on the tv or radio without hearing those songs!

I don't mind many of the current pop songs, it's just that they get so damn overplayed! I generally listen to a station that plays 80s 90s and 'whatever' as they say. I have lots of good memories of music from back then.

What is wrong with Robin Thicke? (aside from his heritage?) Is he a total douchebag? I honestly don't follow much celebrity stuff, aside from what I see on tumblr.

And yeah, I have the same problem with the song 100 Years by Five for Fighting. It's a beautiful song, and when I'm alone in the car I"ll listen, but it makes me cry every time, because it was playing a lot when my friend Grant died of cancer. I love it, because it reminds me of him, but it's pretty much guaranteed that I'll cry.

Ugh! ANYTHING by Rod Stewart! Mostly because he's such a mysoginistic douche-nozzle.

That song is horribly misogynistic and promotes rape culture, and the video is a disgusting piece of shit with half-naked women and he's never once (to my knowledge) shown an ounce of understanding about the effect the song has on women.

Yay! It warms my cold heart to know your dudes think I've got a talent for mocking wealthy pop stars. :¬) And, why aren't you out shoveling snow right now? I have to send you a picture of the crazy over here.

Actually The Wall is the song that will make my eye twitch... I have and ex that insisted on playing the song EVERY SINGLE TIME WE WERE INTIMATE. Now I cannot stand the song.

You don't know from crazy!

I was out this morning on the skid-steer, plowing our driveway. It's been a horrible wind/snow storm here all day, and I"m sure there are drifts blocking it already!

I want a skid-steer! Maybe next Christmas .... Or maybe I'll just keep hoping for an early spring.

Oh man, the skid-steer is super fun! Well … not so much when you're so bundled up you can barely see where you're going, and the wind is blowing so hard that you're covered in snow by the time you're done!!

I have the attention span of a mayfly so if I'm not crazy about any particular song I might change the channel just to see if there's something I do love on another station (what with all the selections from Sirius, there's a good chance). It takes a truly overplayed song for me to go stabbing for the button in OMG GO AWAY, but the one that tops the list is that glory of repetitive from the 80s, Toni Basil's Mickey.

oh god I hate Come On Eileen too! I also hate Lovefool although I like some other songs the cardigans did and i really REALLY hate that I don't wanna wait for our lives to be over song (I forget the name of the chick that sings it). I used to work with a woman who always had a station on the radio that played that damn song all the time. i used to change the station or turn the radio off when she wasn't looking.

ever notice how weird looking the cheerleaders in that video are? that's because all of them except Toni Basil are guys in drag.

"Last Christmas" by George Michael because ahhhhh!

"Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke because date rape much? Plus, I always start out thinking it's Marvin Gaye and then it just pisses me off when it's not.

"Fields of Gold" by...er, I can't remember who because it makes me cry.

anything from norah jones' album 'come away with me'. it was very prety, until my boss had it on repeat all day, every dsy, for an ent summer.
luckily, i don't hear it often b/c i don't listen to the radio, just my ipod and cds, so usually when i flip songs it's bc i'm not in the mod for it just then.

I haven't heard wreking ball either, yet
