Maybe I Can Be Saved (window done!)
May. 8th, 2015 09:46 amInspired by the Supernatural episode 'Reading is Fundamental', where Sam mentions that loved reading the Galahad comics as a child, but realized that he could never have a quest like that, because he was 'unclean.' (referring to the Demon blood in him.)
I felt he deserved a medieval type window. I had planned on having a horse and sword and all that, but ended up preferring this simpler scheme with the clear glass mixed with the bright colours.

Date: 2015-05-09 03:10 pm (UTC)My basic cost on this window was a couple hundred dollars. Glass, paint, kiln time, solder, chemicals and copper foil. I've made much cheaper windows, when I've got all the glass already on hand, but it doesn't always work out that way.
Even if I only paid myself a couple of bucks per hour, this window would probably sell for close to $500.

Date: 2015-05-08 07:28 pm (UTC)This "simpler" composition already has so many details to ogle; the blue stained effect on his clothes and the marvelously 'random' shapes and colours of the circle. Everything is just so cool. <3

Date: 2015-05-09 03:15 pm (UTC)I'm glad I went with the simpler design on this one, but my hubby disagrees. He's not a fan of this window. (don't get me wrong, he's my biggest fan, but he's very helpful with the con crit.)

Date: 2015-05-09 07:57 am (UTC)Oh wow, just realised this is ACTUAL glass (first glance I thought it was a painting). That is absolutely amazing. Now there's a window I'd love to have. <3
