More adventures in glass

How much do I love my kiln? How much? Well … if the laws regarding sexual congress were just a little more lax in my province, I might just have it's babies.

Here's what I've been doing.

Hail Hydra, baby! This was done with a paper cut stencil and the glass frit powder. Black and red on white, and then just black on semi translucent. I didn't know if the black and red would fire properly together in one shot, so I tried it both ways. Clearly, it works just fine!

And here's a Cas window I"m working on. He has two wings, but the other one is in the kiln right now.

This is just sitting on white paper, so it ends up looking a lot darker than it actually is, when there's light shining through. There is a 'show' at the stained glass place where I shop, so I'm hoping I can finish this one in time to submit it.

oh man, those all look great! The hydra ones are so friggen' cute.
Is castiel's face painted, or frit-stencil or...?

Also, if I didn't mention, I'm living my dreams of working with stained glass vicariously through you.

Trust me, it will be much more affordable that way! :D

His face is painted. I tried some frit/stencil faces, and they have a sort of neat, ghostly look to them, but wouldn't have matched the rest of this window, since (aside from the wing colours) it's all painted.

I will DEF do it on another one, at some point though.

I am amazed at how versatile you are *(that second one looks incredibly complicated) and thinking how very awesome it would be to have a custom fannish set of plates.

My attention span is too short to just do one thing!

This widow has a lot of paint, but it's actually made of bigger, simpler pieces than the last one I did, so I HOPE it goes together more easily.

Have fun at the con!!

May I have some of your talent & imagination, please? Just a wee bit thank you.

Oh those are fabulous, but I especially love the Hydra one, very cool! And Castiel's is SO pretty, those colours are stunning! You are a clever clever lass!

The Hydra logos came out fantastically! And I can't wait to see Castiel finished!

Thanks. Now I just need to figure out how to make a window around the Hydra one!
