So, I"m thinking of doing a 'craft show and sale' with my paper cuts, specifically, to get commissions to do 'real' people, like, grandkids, parents, pets, etc, but I want to use famous people to show off my skills. (kind of like when you see those caricature artists, who have drawings of celebrities.

So, who would be eye-catching? I have most of the Avengers and the main guys from Supernatural.

I'm thinking of doing Walter White, Grumpy Cat, Elsa and maybe Bill Murray as a ghostbuster.

Anyone else that you think would bring the boys to my yard people to my booth?

Any and all ideas welcome! Logos too!<3

I have almost two weeks before the show, and I can do paper cuts pretty quickly. 2-4 per day, if need be. I would love to get enough commissions to avoid getting an xmas job.

Ugh! I hate sports, but you're right! A logo of our local hockey team would probably go over really well. *frowns* :D

Characters from Star Wars and the Hunger Games would be eye-catching and current.

Helen Mirren
Cate Blanchett (maybe as Galadriel?)
Angelina Jolie (bonus points for Maleficent)

You can always do the classic Marilyn Monroe - all the cool caricaturists are doing it. :)

Ugh, Marilyn is such an over done icon, but you are totally right. Thank you!

Hiya, just in my opinion you need to make sure that some of the celebs are instantly identifiable to the audience you are actually selling to. Or they could just be seen as some person. It might be worth doing some legendary / iconic ones that everyone knows. Just my thoughts on pitching

Very good point. Sadly, I don't really know the demographic, so it's a bit of a guessing game. But doing a good cross cut of icons should work. Thank you!

As you are showcasing. I'd go for instantly recognisable and iconic famous faces - like Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, then throw in some real people portraits to show you ca do anybody with the right reference.
I bet magical things like unicorns and fairies would snag the little girls too. Maybe some space ships for the boys?

Oddly enough, that Steve McQueen was the portrait that got me into doing portraits! The fellow who made that had a really nice tutorial online.

Thanks for the ideas!

everyone who visits me loves that drawing you did of House kissing me, for what that's worth.

You do realise that Loki is high up on the charts of favorite by most fans? A trio of his image in different stances would probably sell out quickly.

I second the 'iconic' suggestions of marilyn, James Dean, also Elvis and bob marley and audrey Hepburn.
Also seconding spock and sherlock holmes - or something Star trek based (I'd buy a picard in an instant, but most people don't find Patrick stewart quite as irresistible as I do).

I know you're focusing on faces, but another generic idea might be fairy-tale themed pieces, not necessarily specific actors or characters so much as the fairy tales in general -- although now that i've said that, Disney is always popular.
