Okay, I'm out of control with the House stuff now. I can freely admit it. Snape is sulking in the corner, but I must say, it suits him! Perhaps if he's snarky enough to me, I'll render him in chalk too. Well, I suppose I already did, for smut_wednesday, NWS,wanking snape but you know, an actual portrait or something.

Thank you! Actually, other than his mouth, this one gave me very little trouble, and I really expected it to. I always have trouble drawing things that have their 'landmarks' missing. (ie. his hand is covering half his face) I'm so glad you liked it!

Thank you! I'm so glad you like his mouth. I must have erased it and sketched it 10 times, then just said Fuck It, I'll see how it looks in the chalk. Lips never look good when they're just sketched.

Thank you! That is so sweet of you to say! I must admit, I've been on quite an art binge as of late. Housework and childcare be damned! :D

I'll probably have to slow down a bit, or burn out, but I'm literally obsessed right now. I'm so glad you think I'm improving, although, even when I do something that isn't 'better' than the last few, there is generally a good lesson that I've learned while doing it. (at least, that's what I tell myself when my art turns to shit, as it sometimes does.)

The coloring is great--especially his hand being paler than his face. Is this from a screencap? Either way, you nailed the colors. Very classy. Especially that pale green background. Also, I think all that black really anchors it. It's so attractively done, you know? And that makes his goofy expression look even more priceless.

No, it's not a screen cap. I found it on some hugh-centric site, and it's from some magazine. I want to say Chatelaine, but I'm not sure. I knew, as soon as I saw it that I HAD to draw it. Of course, I had envisioned graphite, but with my new colouring skillz, chalk it was!

There's something so fun and enjoyable about your style, I can't place it. It's not a caricature, but there's so much...personality to it somehow, something that elaborates further than just a strict portrait. I don't know. But I do very much love this one. Seriously. ;)
