Only five months later.....

flavored_glass won my caption contest for this silly little ditty, and for her prize, she requested, Luna and a mouse. I assumed she was asking for a 'gen' pic, so I emptied my smutty mind and came up with this!

Ohhh, the mouse is SO CUTE. I like her too, I love her neck. Her nose looks a bit weird, but aw, your coloring is always spot on.

yeah, her nose is kind of effed up, and so is the rest of her face. I'm having a bit of trouble reconciling the initial sketch, with the finished product. Perhaps I need to take a bit more time sketching. I'm really liking the speed of pastels, but perhaps I'm going a bit too fast.

Thanks! Pastels don't allow for a lot of detail (unlike my beloved pencils), so as much as I'm really enjoying them, it's sort of a love/hate relationship!

I DO like being able to highlight AFTER the fact, instead of just leaving spaces blank, like you have to with graphite.

Oh the learning curve, it's a bitch!

Hmmm...Her cheeks are off. Too low? I"m not sure. I like her mouth, but I may have drawn it a bit small. (a common problem of mine) and her nose is totally effed up. I tried to fix it, but there's only so much you can do with chalk.

Overall, it's not a terrible drawing, but it's off enough, that it's not something I'm very proud off. Better than some, though. I'm not above just scrapping a few hours work and throwing it in the garbage. (like the one I'm working on now) :(
