*sob* lost a daughter, gained a son
Jul. 11th, 2006 02:49 pmNo, there was no wedding, the son/daughter in question is only three years old. Quincey decided sometime after his first birthday that he no longer wanted his hair cut. I disagreed, but after almost poking out his eye with my scissors, I relented.
Fast forward two years. My long haired galoot is CONSTANTLY mistaken for a girl (no big deal) but he is also starting to become quite clumsy due to his hair being in his face. (he refused a pony tail as well)....so, we drew the line and cut it.
I didn't cry, but I wanted to! I thought I'd post the before and after. Sorry about the quality, but YOU get a three year old to sit still. (the haircut was hard enough). Please also note that this is the crappiest haircut I have ever given. (well...to someone I wasn't mad at, anyway ;).

Let me also add that I must get on a plane at 6am tomorrow morning, and leave my babies for 4 days while I donn a HUGE TURQUOISE GOWN and stand up at my mother's wedding in Toronto. *sob* I hate to fly. Well, I don't hate flying, I hate dying in firey plane crashes. *heart palpatations*

Date: 2006-07-11 08:32 pm (UTC)My son is also three, and we did a first haircut then. It's only a few months later, and he already looks like an angel again. But he didn't have long hair, he had TALL hair.
Your kids aren't going to their grandmother's wedding? Well, at least it will make your flight easier. I bet you will look very nice in your huge turquoise gown. Congratulations!

Date: 2006-07-11 09:47 pm (UTC)I'm sure your trip will be fine. Whenever I fly, I just keep myself from thinking about what is actually going on, and I can make it through the flight. And remember: You're safer in a plane than walking across the street. Enjoy your mother's wedding!

Date: 2006-07-12 07:36 pm (UTC)I"m here now, thanks to the massive {{{{NO CRASH}}}}} vibes that Canonfodder sent my way. I would have gotten exceedingly drunk, but the flight was at 6am, and the thought of a Ceasar turned my stomach! :D
I'll post a pic of the massive turquoise gown! (the wedding is Friday)

Date: 2006-07-11 10:53 pm (UTC)As for the wedding:
a) I HOPE THERE'S INTERNET THERE - 4 DAYS!!!!! *takes deep breaths*
b) I'm terrified of flying too, as you know, but I do find that alcohol helps. Lots of alcohol. Plus, there's nothing like that first impression you give when you turn up pissed. 6am? Ignore the funny looks, take the alcohol. If they don't serve it try chanting (inside the head by preference) - that helps too :D
*hugs* have fun in your huge turquoise gown and I'm sending you some good art vibes for the wedding portrait too!!! :)
