A Snapely WIP art

I haven't done this for a while, so here's a graphite Snape, wip.
I've darkened it in photoshop a bit, so that it shows up.

There's loads more room on the paper, so in an incredible show of planning, I have no idea what he's going to be doing/looking at. I usually have a better idea on what I want a picture to be about, but nope...not this time!
The reference for his face is actually from a screen shot of him and Hugh Laurie. Perhaps this will be my long awaited Snape/House crossover pic! Or not. I haven't decided yet.

Date: 2007-06-26 06:25 pm (UTC)'Cause I totally hear you on that! Whenever a sketch starts out well, I'm afraid to keep going, in case I completely eff it up.
Ah, the rock-solid egos of artists, eh?
I have a sketch pad that has turned out two horrible drawings, and I"m afraid to use it again, because I feel like anything I draw in there is going to be crap. Talent, or lack thereof, certainly has nothing to do with ME and everything to do with dumb luck and superstition. ;^)

Also, OMG I have a sketchbook just like that. I refuse to even touch it because I don't like what's on the first page, lol. Maybe I'll have a burn party sometime.
PS: I checked out that Snape pic you sent me on that belated email, and I was totally floored by the difference. I don't think I've ever seen improvement like that. You are supernatural. ;)

As for being supernatural....Okay! I'll take it! :D
Nah, just obsessed. I gave up most of my hobbies when I had kids, so when I finally had a chance to have something just for *me* I latched on and couldn't stop!

Date: 2007-06-26 09:12 pm (UTC)It looks gorgeous. I actually rather like the sketchiness. House and Snape seem like an excellent crossover - I was just watching some old House yesterday and thinking that. Having just recently watched all of Blackadder it was nice to see Hugh Laurie older and grumpier. It's peculiar how quickly I got used to him having a US accent, though, given how very very Brit he usually sounds :).
